What does the rules say about staying behind someone on a mountain-TT?
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

At least now Hesjedal has someone he can hang onto.

To be fair he's had lots of issues. He was about a minute down at the time check. Then his chain broke/dropped and he had to switch off his road bike onto a TT bike for the rest of the climb, which puts him at a big disadvantage.

Not really, you have no idea if Uran is really giving it all and even a 45-1½ min loss would still have had uran in the lead.
Not to mention being in the lead jersey usually gives a extra boost.
Quintana might win but the moral winner is Uran |

There seemed to be several bicycles on top of the team car. But you might be right.
If that is the case, then that is what you gamble when you try to gain time by switching bikes and letting a mechanic push you uphill. Imagine if it had happened to one of the top-GC riders. |

LOL well italian riders are not known for their "doping"
But to be honest Quintana doesnt really need to give it all today, he just needed to keep Uran behind him and once that was done he could take it easy.

The problem is, the others were starting on the TT and switching to a road. Ryder wasn't going to switch bikes at all and then he had problems with his road and had to switch to a TT. The actual bike change wasn't what likely ruined his day it was being forced to switch to an inferior bike.

Aru beastmode, impressed by Kelderman that he managed to stop the bleeding where someone like Hesjedal couldn't... Kelderman looked cooked at the second split but kept it together. |
