More important: WTF Slipstream. All you guys had to do was show up with some fire in your bellies and do a 1-2-3. Not a 2-3-4!

Yaeh on that photo it's really claer that Caldwell only because Hamilton used a bigger wheel size that day. From my eye judgement it must be a 28" wheel on Hamiltons and 26"-27" on Caldwells, if he had used a 29" he would have won

The most recent poll on Velonews.com which was put up last night has recorded 8300 votes, 96% of which answered yes to the querie "Are you pleased to see Tyler Hamilton as U.S. champion?"
4 % answered no. Given the nature of Velonews.com's audience I assert that the vast majority of American cycling fans, based on the poll, are pleased to see Hamilton the National champ. Really what I am saying is that We (I included) Americans don't care what Europeans think of ou national champ.
Hamilton served his ban and rides for a team which has never produced a positive result and subscribes to the same Anti-doping program that such teams as Slipstream and BMC pour money into.
He's our National champ, get used to it.

It's velonews....what more needs to be said about a site whose overhyping of Americans regularly exceeds Levi4Life's (if you think I'm exaggerating, you've never been a regular Velonews reader)

So the deepseeded dislike of all things rock racing on the part of so many forumers is a childish reaction to something that isn't the traditionalism idealized by all European teams, when the sad truth is that Rock racing is cleaner than the majority of Euro squads?
I still don't understand.

I still don't understand.
Only if "cleaner" means they only have 20 doped riders while european teams have 30 or so doped riders.
The only thing that's childish here is your reaction which is the usual american reaction: "when a foreigner disagrees with me it's because he hates america"

no smiliey but was being scarcastic. I'm perfectly resigned to the fact he won, happy about it though? Not especially. But then again, i'm not estatic about most things in cycling right now

The facts I stated above still haven't been addressed Isso. Obviously an American media outlet is going to emphazize american riders, just like Le Equipe or any other cycling magazine.
In addtion to that I think Isso has never opened an issue of Velonews. The front page of the most recent issue is a picture of Lance on his way to second at the leadville 100, but the main stories are on Clasica San Sebastian, Rory Sutherland (an Aussie) Irina Kalentieva, a breakdown of the olympic results, focusing on Sanchez and Cooke, a technical explanation on how Cadel Evans lost the tour, based on an analysis of Cadel Evan's aero position, and a lot of reviews of Wheels, Gruppo's and bikes.

Again isso Rock racing has never produced a positive, despite an internal Anti-doping program that is the same as Slipstream.
I know you have an inherent distrust of everything cycling including slipstream but most of us don't. Please don't disagree with me for the sake of disagreeing with me.

You just don't get it, do you? Bias isn't talking about just americans. That would be tunnel focus. Its that when they talk about americans that the bias is all over the place. Whenever they mention a past race, they always exaggerate the chances of americans and pretend as if the americans were unjustly treated in a way that didn't allow them to win despite their godlike talents.

want me to number the positive tests by the riders currently on the team?
hint: there's 6 of them.

Yes, personal attacks and lies are definitely the way to go when you have no arguments.

Yes, personal attacks and lies are definitely the way to go when you have no arguments.
1. The facts I stated in the above posts
2. So you have never opened an issue of Velonews and therefore do not know of the reporting style of the journalists who write for the magazine.
3. If one has never read an issue of a sporting magazine how can one know of the bias (or lack there-of) of the contributers. Velonews' pre-Tour issue emphasized the potential for Slipstream to place someone in the top 10 overall and maybe nab a stage win. On velonews' favorites list there weren't any Americans mentioned.
4. But Rock racing has never produced a positive test, and therefore, has never produced a positive test.
5. I have read posts that would lead me to believe that you, issoisso have an inherrent distrust of al things cycling, including slipstream. Maybe this is taken out of context but I am sure that if I look I will find. Therefore I will begin looking. EDIT Apparently I do not have access to search the site
