So next race will be the Eneco Tour 2010! I have to say, I´m a big fan of this stage race because you never know who´s gonna be the winner in the end. I think our team-squad we´ve sent, is really strong. Tony Martin is back, as our team captain. All in all, we´ve got many great time trialists there. Such as Marco Pinotti, Lars Ytting Bak, Frantisek Rabon and of course Tony Martin. Bernhard Eisel is going to prepare the sprints for Mark Renshaw but also his own shape for the Vuelta. Vicente Reyes is another good sprinter but I don´t think he will play a big role for us.
Right, there is still one rider left in our squad and you don´t know him yet. Because of that I´m going to present him now. Welcome to an amazing young rider called Gregorio Pento! He´s also a nice time trialist but I´m sure one day he is one of the best.

Our goal for this race is at least a Top 5 overall placement with Tony Martin.
I know his shape isn´t that good but he really should be able to get a good result for us

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/totaalkaart.jpg

The competition is quite strong with especially fantastic time trialists. Such as Cancellara, Kirchen, Löfkvist, Brajkovic, Devolder, Cornu, Gerdemann, Voigt, Boasson Hagen and many more. I think these guys will be the strongest contenders

Good luck with Martin. Also Rabon and Bak could be an option for this race.
Pento is really looking like a good lead-out or later as cobbles leader.

Yes, Pento is a good transfer for us. But he is not the only great rider joining Columbia. We were able to sign 4 other guys, too.

We´re starting this race with a short prologue about 4,4 kilometres. We should be able to get some riders into the top 10 today. I´m pretty curious about Cancellara´s shape. If his shape is good, he might be unbeatable today but let´s see..

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/2-22.jpg
Ovetchkin was one of the first riders, setting a time. But no one of them was better then Ovetchkin. He got the new minimum time with 6´11

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/3-21.jpg
Devolder showed an amazing prologue, beating Ovetchkin´s time by 2 seconds. 6´09

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/4-21.jpg
But then today´s favourite, Fabian Cancellara, was on fire. He set another great time with 6´05! If this was the best time for today?

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/5-19.jpg
Just a few moments later Kim Kirchen crossed the line with only 1 second behind Cancellara

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/6-14.jpg
Look at that now! Our new trainee Pento in his first race as a pro! It was just amazing to see him today! Finally he was able to get top 20 result with a great time ( 6´20)

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/7-13.jpg
Lars Ytting Bak was able to set a good time today. Of course he wasn´t fast enough to beat Cancellara, Kirchen and Ovetchkin but with only 10 seconds to Fabian he should be happy

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/8-11.jpg
Dominique Cornu, the new Belgian Champion, couldn´t beat Cancellara today but he still got a nice time and a good result in the end ( 6´14)

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/9-11.jpg
Boasson Hagen was the next one and he seemed to be a bit tired after the Vattenfall Cyclassics. So he just set the same time as Bak

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/10-7.jpg
Our last hope for today was Tony Martin! He wasn´t in a good shape but his time was still great, loosing only 8 seconds to Cancellara

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/11-6.jpg
The last one who was able to reach Cancellara´s time was Linus Gerdemann. Too bad he missed that time by only 1 second!

As I told you, we are also participating in an American stage race in Utah! The main reason for that is our great talent Tejay Van Garderen. First of all we want to send him to a smaller stage race as a team leader. Another point is his shape as we really want him to ride the Vuelta. So our big goal in Utah is to improve his shape but I´m sure he´s able to get a nice overall result. The competition isn´t really strong there with Oscar Sevilla and Rene Obst as main rivals. Our sprint captain is Matthew Goss. And with his leadout men Hayden Roulston and another young talent Leigh Howard, he might be able to get a stage win

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/1-26.jpg
The first stage isn´t really easy for the sprinters but it´s not impossible that there will be a mass sprint in the finish. Van Garderen is prepared for some attacks on the last smaller climb with 20 kilometres to go

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/2-23.jpg
There was a huge group in front. But there were no important riders for the overall. Sydlik won the only mountain sprint today in front of Lagana and Jeitz! That means Sydlik got the KoM jersey for tomorrow..congrats to that!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/3-22.jpg
As we expected, there were some serious moves on the last climb with more than 18 kilometres to go. Obst, Sevilla, Crawford and Van Garderen tried to reach the breakaway

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/4-22.jpg
It was a successfull move by Van Garderen and Co. They rode in a big group with today´s breakaway. And there it came to a "mass sprint" but Van Garderen wasn´t fast enough to fight for the stage win

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/5-20.jpg
Rene Obst took the stage in front of Sevilla and Baumann while Van Garderen finished as 4th which is a pretty good result for him

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/1-27.jpg
After the good prologue by us, we´re looking forward to the first flat stage. The competition is really strong when it comes to a bunch sprint. Petacchi, Pozzato, McEwen, Chicchi, Ciolek, Boonen, O´Grady, Napolitano and Robert Hunter are the biggest favourites for today just like our sprint captain Renshaw. My tip: Ciolek!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/2-24.jpg
With only 6 kilometres to go, our sprint train looked quite good with Tony Martin, Bernhard Eisel and Mark Renshaw. Vacansoleil had the fastest train at the moment with Pronk and Traksel. Traksel is in an amazing shape the last weeks

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/3-23.jpg
When the sprint began, Renshaw lost Eisel´s wheel and was completely on his own and this was the reason he couldn´t sprint for the stage win. Instead of Mark it was Bernhard Eisel, who tried to get a nice result for us while Traksel destroyed his rivals

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/4-23.jpg
Traksel takes the stage win in front of his leadout man Pronk! An amazing double for Vacansoleil..they are so great in Pro Tour Races but in their Continental Tour they´re really weak! I can say, it´s just amazing to see Traksel win..Wink why? You will see that...
O ´Grady managed to finish on the podium in front of Eisel..so a 4th place is great for us

Thank you very much! I´m playing PCM for 5 years Wink
Maxime Monfort´s shape was almost 99 the whole Tour but you know we had a lot of luck there.

He improved quite well over the season in comparison to the first page.
Nonetheless a great effort to beat Contador and Schleck. BananaBananaBanana

Well, as I told you yesterday, I would like to present you another transfer today. In the last stage of the Eneco Tour, he was able to destroy his rivals and I´m glad to welcome him!

That`s a really good transfer. Good sprinter after a hard stage.
Who is leaving your team actually? Because especially sprinters you should have quite a lot.
