I wouldn't even trade Jon Dahl Tomasson for Heskey. That says a lot. |

This is possibly the best comedy I have ever watched.
When's the actual England match? |

Would have loved to see Terry cost 2 points, though. |

England played so bad, I would be ashamed to be English fan now. Algieria played very well, maybe a little surprise ...
why would the english fans feel ashamed?
it's the players and capello who should be ashamed.
everyone in England knows that gerrard should play up front with rooney but capello just won't change his 442. heskey adds nothing to the team at all.
we should still qualify but capello needs to listen to the whole country. |

Sorry for wrong context
Why Capello didn't give Crouch a chance earlier ? For me he would be best striker to play with Ronney and Gerrard should play slightly higher on the pitch, Capello formation doesn't work.
don't worry about it.
your exactly right. gerrard should play just behind rooney with joe cole on the left of midfirled. at the moment, like with Ribery for France, Gerrard is being played out of position and so can't control a game like he does for Liverpool. Gerrard isn't a winger. everyone in England has been saying all week we should play 451 with Gerrard just behind rooney, but for some reason capello just won't drop heskey. |

Shocking. The performance against the USA was bad, this was on a whole new level. All the players seemed really nervous and tyred, even un-motivated. I expected the performance to be bad again, but that was incredible considering the quality of the players. There's just no imagination in the team at all. It's all so predictable. |

Well no defending that, England were pretty poor.
The talk before the game was how Barry was going to transform the team, which was a bit ridiculous and changing the Goalie. Algeria didn't really threaten yet James did his best to look hapless.
The real issue was with Rooney, as he came off he said something about the England fans booing him and the team to the camaras. He had a very bad game indeed, he looks injured. Again England are carrying around and injured player because no-one else has the capability of unlocking defenses 'at this level' (I hate it when players/commentators say that).
If Rooney is not 100% why not try something different like Crouch and Defoe up front or just Crouch with Gerrard and Lampard behind or something and then Rooney comes on as a sub or something.
Looking forward to seeing the next game so I can wipe that abberation of a match from my memory. |

On behalf of the whole England nation and her team, I'd like to apologise to all those who had to endure such a steaming pile of manure.

I think that's probably the best way you can put it. |

That was laughable of England. Absolutely embarassing.
Why not try the combination of Crouch and Defoe in front? And, at least Capello; please, just please try to use Lennon the "right" way. He should be playing as a winger, and a winger only. Not a player that shall run into the middle of the field, and try to combinations with Gerrard and Lampard. And why did Lennon switch from left to right "wing" every 10 minutes? He's right.footed, and the very few games he ever have played on the left side has been bad.
But for Christ sake. This is England, the nation that you always associate with dedication and "die for your shirt"-mentality. Where was that today?
They looked totally uninspired, making horrible passes, no-one from the midfield makes som real runs forward.
It all looked like a total mess, without plans for one single thing.
That's my word. Hopefully I can watch better football tomorrow

he's obviously injured.
the last 4 or 5 games of the season for man united he got took off because of an ankle injury but sir Alex kept playin him. he's been overplayed all year and is now paying the price. |

England striker Wayne Rooney shouts "nice to see your own fans booing" to a TV camera as he walks off the pitch after the 0-0 draw against Algeria.
If you play as shocking as that, and half the team don't even look interested in playing (including Rooney), then they sure as hell should let you know it

Ego boost time: someone said something about Algeria not being that bad. Guess who.
Seriously now, how did England manage to do this? |

I was pretty close of the truth when I wrote about France yesterday. According to L'Equipe today, Anelka insulted (I won't translate what he said) Domenech at the half time, when he threatened to replace him for not respecting tactical orders.
Then, at the end of the match, he looked happy France lost and didn't seem to care.
Also, Anelka and Ribéry seem to impress Gourcuff quite badly, since he has to move off their way when they're walking around, even whilst answering an interview.
What a bunch of morons, seriously, it seems like a high school for dummies... Not a sports team with grown ups... |
