Since being re-introduced, no British rider has won the Tour of Britain. But David Millar looks set to change that having taken 2 stage wins and shown a determination to keep the yellow jersey.

Theres 18 KoM points available today so when Adam Blythe sees Piet Rooijakers attack, he responds - the Dutchman is just 10 points behind Blythe. And by winning the first KoM climb in front of Tadel Kangert and Hu Wu, Blythe secures the jersey.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain25.png

After that, Blythe just sat at the back of the group but the gap still got strong so McCann, Coyot, Oliphant and Haynes tried to reduce it
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain26.png

But with 25km to go, the gap is still 6 minutes and the lead rider in the GC of the break is Andreas Klier at 2'08. With 20 seconds also available on the line for time bonuses, and Klier having already picked up 10 seconds time bonuses from the intermediate sprints it is getting a bit desperate. Theres only one thing to do.

Millar attacks!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain27.png

And its a green moment too! Millar rides as fast as possible towards the break.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain28.png

If it werent for the Millar situation, Blythe would have gone for the stage win by attacking from his companions, but he is willing to sacrifice that and does his best to slow the break. It works - with 3km to go, Millar is less than a minute behind!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain29.png

Blythe still halts it a little before starting to sprint at 2km to go. Barbero behind him is a strong sprinter - but he doesnt respond
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain30.png

Blythe actually pulls away! How is this possible?
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain31.png

I guess not relaying for much of the stage has kept him fresh. Blythe takes a big win - not only is it his first win - it's also his first top 10 result at all in his 2 seasons at DFL!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain32.png

Millar comes in 8th, losing no time on the breakaway - he wins the Tour of Britain.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/tobritain33.png

Its a good thing that Millar did attack - if he had stayed in the peleton, Klier would have won the GC.

Super win by Blythe there, DFL dominated at their home tour. Well done SN, the Sponser will be happy. I wonder if they can fulfil the required money next year Pfft

I dont understand what you mean by 'fulfil the required money'?

They will need to give you a lot of money, if you are signing better riders, a lot of your riders are getting better so they will demand better salaries. understand now?

Stage 8

Its the final stages and possibly the decisive stage, due to its hilly nature. But with 3km to go, the peleton is still large and having drank 2 drinks in a raw (One to fill the green bar, one to fill the blue), Efimkin attacks
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/pologne22.png

Bettini is too strong though
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/pologne23.png

Efimkin can only watch as stronger riders pass him
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/pologne24.png

Stage win for Bettini!

Stage 14

This is the first of 2 consecutive mountain stages - the only 2 remaining mountain stages. But the route looks more hilly than mountainy, ending up the Jaizkibel.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/vuelta80.png

Anton needs 22 seconds for the race lead but more more than that to keep it to Madrid so attacks at the foot of the Jaizkibel.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/vuelta81.png

Noone responds as he builds a gap
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/vuelta82.png

He has a minute when Brajkovic eventually does respond
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/vuelta83.png

But the Slovenian is passed by Pereiro
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/vuelta84.png

Anton will take the stage, and regains the race lead
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/vuelta85.png

Pereiro takes 2nd 1'07 behind while Cunego leads in Brajkovic 1'24 back.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/vuelta86.png

Hagen was also active in the finale, attacking with Di Luca, and Rovira. He is now a serious threat for a Top 10 place and is looking to keep his place in it. He moves up ahead of Gusev and Luis Leon Sanchez into 8th.
