Nibali lost time to Anton on a average mountain top finish, look at Sastre not good on the average climbs but in his prime he could punish poeple on the steeper climbs, it all comes down to your strengths on certain climbs, or if you have an off day, but to say he will never win a GT is just ridiculos, he shows promise, he still young, so what if Gesink has finished on the poduim before Nibali, its not a race to see who finishes on a GT podium first, Nibqli has had good foundations laid down for him at Liquigas, a team more than capable off improving him to be a GT winner in my opinion, he is one of the best young talents out there.

So actually, Gesink already was at podium level, before Nibali ever did a GT podium (giro 2010), and Gesink is 2 years younger as well
1 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne 78:56:42
2 Robert Gesink (Ned) Rabobank 0:00:32
3 Samuel Sánchez (Spa) Euskaltel-Euskadi 0:01:10
4 Ivan Basso (Ita) Liquigas 0:01:29
5 Cadel Evans (Aus) Silence-Lotto 0:01:51
6 Ezequiel Mosquera (Spa) Xacobeo Galicia 0:01:55
7 JoaquÃm RodrÃguez (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne 0:05:54
8 Paolo Tiralongo (Ita) Lampre-NGC 0:06:35
9 Philip Deignan (Irl) Cervélo TestTeam 0:07:49
10 Juan José Cobo (Spa) Fuji-Servetto 0:10:46
You got owned Guido, just stop discussing, your losing
Gesink already showed the ability to ride podium in a GT last year. And he would have without a fall, a REAL MAN would admit that Guido.
And stop your mumbling about average, i never said that. I just said he is no GT winner. And will always be stuck
Gesink came 6th, next you will be arguing that Rasmussen already won a grand tour, as did Landis, oh and Schleck, and Sanchez came third in the TDF this year, and Sastre won the Giro because if he hadn't been injurerd he would have easily done it. In fact Soler has been the best GT climber the past 2 years.

I hate If arguments. That makes Beloki also as Tour winner without that career killer crash. Armstrong would made it to the podium without a crash. Valverde would won 2006 TdF without crash..etc..etc.
What ever and how strong your If argument is..It is still IF.
So actually, Gesink already was at podium level, before Nibali ever did a GT podium (giro 2010), and Gesink is 2 years younger as well
actualy he did not made it to the podium..

and he did fall, and he keep on falling (Soler exampla was nice). ..and again Gesink still never made it to the podium. He has potential..shure..but he never made it so far.
And stop your mumbling about average, i never said that. I just said he is no GT winner. And will always be stuck
I can stop that one..only last point. Sad that Pellizotti dope strory spoiled Nibali 2010 calendar and he was placed to Giro list. |

And the real conclusion of the discussion is that Ruben is still 14 years old. For the 7th year in a row.

Why do I even react to Guido. It's useless. he is too blind for words
Gesink beat Nibali in EVERY diirect confrontation uphill and in Tirreno/Pais Vasco/Dauphine.
He did a better Tour (6th) than Nibali (7th) in a stronger field.
He did a better vuelta (actually fighting for the win and putting time into others uphill) than Nibali so far is doing, and you know goddamn well he would have podiummed without a fall, so stop your "he has the potential" he has the ABILITY to. He already showed so. F*ck off

If it's a sprint (which it is), you just cannot look past Cavendish, no matter where you're from, who you support.
So, my tip is Cavendish 1st, Farrar 2nd. And hey why not Stauff 3rd.

Sounds reasonable, it will be Farrar vs. Cavendish. And then Hushovd will fight with the others to get the 3rd(if he decides to sprint)
Bennati got 2 guys with him.

wow, nice one for Cavendish, made even better by a rather nicely executed bunny hop. We need a points contest that takes style into account. McEwen gets the points for wheelies over mountains
Also, great "ride fast" by Hushovd, he didn't actually sprint did he?
