You might all hate me for this Pfft, but i bought a Caisse D'Epargne outfit today, seeing it's never bad to have a second pair of cloths. it's nice though. I had to choose out of Astana, Columbia, Caisse or Liquigas and seeing the other 3 were close to being fully transparant i decided to go with Caisse.

I do have a question. My uncle told me about this and i've also read it in the book of Karl Vannieuwkercke. But do you use some sort of grease or something else in the patch of the pants? My uncle told me it is to prevent wounds. Anyone could inform me on this or is this complete bs?

Chamois Cream

I don't, but many people do. Depends on how sensitive you are to pressure down there...

chamois cream. I use it for longer rides and races. I use Dave Zabriskie's DZ Nutz cream. other brands are Belgium Butter, Assos etc.

Does it have to be one of that product? If so, do i have to buy this in a cycling store or at a pharmacy or just a store?

Get it at a bike shop. All of them will sell it.

I got the DZ Nutz for kicks9mostly for the packaging), my teammate used to use Assmaster, now he uses Belgium Butter. Assos is really expensive. I wouldn't even worry about it unless you have some hard rides, or a sensitive taint.

Rode the Dorset Coast Audax yesterday - 208km and 3000m of climbing. Completely destroyed me physically and mentally, having to concentrate for all that time (terrible road surfaces) and taking an hour off last years time, despite a detour and crashing. So, for today, it's sleep and filling out my mangame stuff

So, the Amstel Gold Race for tourriders is finally here Smile Well, tomorrow technically. Can't wait now anymore Pfft
Only downside; gotta get up at 4am to get to Valkenburg in time Pfft (And another 11 999 cyclists with me Smile )

As long as I complete the 150km in under 7 houres, I'll be satisfied Pfft (seeing it'll be my first ever proper hills I'll climb Pfft best so far is a big brigde XD)

Did my 4th ride today, everything went well untill i rode to a corner less then 1km from home. I heard something clingle, so i stopped and turned around. I unclicked my left foot and put it on the ground and then i just fell over to the right side <.<. A few scratches, luckily nothing more. Although my bike is a bit scratched Sad. Guess i gotta live whit that happening.

Always good to scratch the bike for the first time. If you are constantly worried about scratching it then you won't ride it to it's full potential. now that you have scratched it once, now you can say "fuck it" and crash all you want.

The AGR was really awesome to do Grin
I turn out to ride a lot better uphill then on the flat. (well, seeing I have pretty much no fat, I did expect this). Overall, I think uphill I was overtaken by c. 50 people, whereas I overtook about ten times that myself Grin

And the story get's better; going up the Loorberg, suddenly the AG2R squad passed me. I thought, why not try to follow? And it worked. (ok ok, given, they where riding at like 10% of their capabilities...Pfft)

Overall, I managed the 150km quite good. It's just, the Keuteberg. After 140km that thing is such a beast. It feels like 20% for the first 500m non stop. A lot of people walked it up. I managed to climb it all the way, using 34-27 gearing Pfft Mostly standing on the pedals. Man I was happy when that was over Pfft
For me this was the hardest climb. For being nearly at the end, and the steepest of all. Ok, the Eyserbosweg is longest and nearly as steep, but it's not steep from foot to top. And; you can perfectly see when its coming, and how steep it's going to be.

And in the end, on the Cauberg, I was lucky that it wasnt too crowded, so I did managed to climb it by bike. (a lot of people had to walk, because there was no scape to cycle.)
The climb itself isnt too hard, having had the Keuteberg just minutes ago, and I managed to go up the first half very fast. Then at the steep section, I felt how tired I actually was after 150km of hilly terrain for the first time. (there really is not one kilometer flat).

My time on the Cauberg was 2.49 I believe.
Overall avg speed; 24.2 km/h (although I couldve done faster; after each climb, in the decent, I had to wait for my dad to catch up again, only to drop him again on the next hill Pfft)

Overall; big succes. Next month I'm going back for Limburgs Mooiste. (a similar ride) Smile

Well, it's taken longer for me to put this bike together than it took me to break one, and batter my elbow into "submission".

This is my pride and joy. And I cannot wait to take it out for it's first ride in about 2 weeks time.

Yes, I will allow you to be jealous.

Looks good. I busted up my back last friday (hit a pothole while descending over the frame) and am waiting a few more days before getting back on my bike, so I've been relaxing the last couple of days.

Well, i haven't posted my bike in here.

Fondriest RP3 carbon frame
10 Spd Campagnolo Record groupset
Deda handlebars,stem and seatpost
Fulcrum Racing 3 Wheels

I just love it. I bought it about a year ago and it is really smooth in descending and tackling corners. Fondriest was an awesome cyclist and is an awesome frame developer too Grin The italian pedigree Pfft

Banana Nice!, seems you did it pretty fast anyways for the distance and profile (i could not do that im sure). Did you ride it 'officially', wanted to do it with my brother but it was sold out insanely fast.

Btw i think we need a 'post your bike thread'. Kinda essential on a cycling related forum isn't it ?

My bike: Koga Carbon Team Edition - Dutch powerrrrrr Wink (still needs one or more spacers removed)

I have a Fondriest TF2 carbon frame equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace, with Ksyrium and Cosmic Carbone wheels.

Well i had, until yesterday. I discovered some crack's in the chain stays and in the paint in the 2 tubes of the fork. Frown

I returned it back where i bought it and i'm expecting the new frame model of 2010 which is great (and hoping, more durable). Grin

And my bike, I already posted it once but it wont hurt doing so again.

Trek Madone 4.5 (2009) (comes with Shimano 105 groupe (triple for me) and Bontrager Race wheels)

40min. omg. i'll be sure to be on standby behind my PC next year Pfft. Btw also a 105 triple for me. Nice bike and colors. For some reason i absolutely did NOT want a black frame, they don't appeal to me for some reason.
