THE RACE

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-80KM.jpg

Hamilton/Jelly Belly is trying to start the first break of the day after only just four kilometres

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/085-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES-ROUND%203-OXFORD/086-PIC4_zps00e187e7.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-60KM.jpg

We have sent Alex Bowden up the road to try and get us some TV time seeing that we have had a disappointing Tour Series so far. He has been joined by Simes/Jamis Sutter Home and Dombrowski/Bontrager Livestrong

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/085-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES-ROUND%203-OXFORD/086-PIC5_zps2f1510b7.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-40KM.jpg

The break has doubled in size with the addition of Di Paolo/Acqua & Sapone, Barrett/Team Optum and Marino/Saur Sojasun and the lead has also strengthened to 2m 40s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/085-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES-ROUND%203-OXFORD/086-PIC6_zpse8e5ad95.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-20KM.jpg

Smukulis of Katusha is trying to escape from the pack as he tries to hunt down the leaders up the road

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/085-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES-ROUND%203-OXFORD/086-PIC7_zpsb72cf211.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-10KM.jpg

He has caught and passed the days breakaways and is now the only rider in the lead and has a small advantage of 44s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/085-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES-ROUND%203-OXFORD/086-PIC9_zps5293eab5.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-5KM.jpg

The pack are reeling him back in with every pedal stroke and only 23s lies between him winning or being caught

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/085-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES-ROUND%203-OXFORD/086-PIC10_zpsf5eae87d.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-1KM.jpg

He gets caught at the red kite and Simon/Saur Sojasun straight away launches his bid for glory

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/085-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES-ROUND%203-OXFORD/086-PIC11_zps8f788b5a.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/checkeredflag1.gif

But he celebrates too early and gets pipped at the line by the fast finishing Belgian Maxime Vantomme of Katusha
