Good raving Ian. Keep it up.
I like the idea of only the mountain stages. That would make it interesting.

41st place and just 12 seconds off the pace is a great start for Eric |

Thanks for the many replies once again, you're fantastic!
I'll be at my dad's all day long (which means no PCM), so I'll report the only mountain stage of Tour De Romandie probably tomorrow, along with the final TT (which is also very interesting for Eric I believe). See you then! |

Stijn is Tom Boonen 2.0 and Lombaerts is EVans 2.0
Thanks for showing the stats, like somme said before, probably too high at the beginning, but now understandable. I'd say: after the Giro to extreme!

With those stats you gotta win The Giro. BTW great story. I hope it's going to keep on to they retire if you can hold it for that long |

@sutty68 & JuanMotr: I feel like giving you both a reward for following so closely and commenting so much, thanks a lot, you keep the spirit in this story!
@dienblad: I'll take it into account for a future story (lower starter stats), thanks
@fred947a: Much will depend on the competition there
btw, their stats may be high but sometimes I "simulate" certain unfortunate events so that the results remain plausible (Stijn is just a natural). My main focus of this career is the story, so that's why I raced on a lower difficulty (so I had control, I could let them have a bad day or a great day).
I might do the race tonight, but I'm pretty tired so Romandie mountain stage will probably be for tomorrow! |

Tour de Romandie - Stage 5
A climb early on in the race and two climbs at the end. It should be to my liking.
As predicted, I tested my legs today, starting out by making the pace on the final slope of the day.
Near the top I even tried an acceleration.
But I didn't last 100m and was absorbed by the fast-paced pack.
Fuglsang, the last remaining BOTD-rider, won the stage! I finished anonymously in the peloton.

Not my best sprint today. I got blocked in by Ponzi. However, my legs are fantastic and I'll ride a great Giro, I can feel it!

The field qua GC-contenders is not the strongest, so Eric should have a big shot at the top 5!
I rode a decent prologue and finished 5th. A great start for me.
I feel that I'm in a very great shape. The drawback is that I'll probably lose some of that shape along the way in this Giro. If I want to go for victories, I reckon they'll have to be in the first part of this Giro, why not today?
I rode as fast as I could possibly ride.
I couldn't believe what I saw as I started minutes in disbelief.
"Pink for Stijn Van Gent!" What a win!

Giro d'Italia - Stage 2
Since most sprinters are here with a form that will top in the middle of the Giro, where the most flat stages are, I have a decreasing form, being on top now. So I'll have to use that if I want to dream about the Points Jersey, I have to do as much as possible now.
This race is just perfect for me, quite long, hard and flat.
I enjoyed every second of this jersey today, it's beautiful!
The breakaway was caught quite late and because of that, there was quite some chaos, this sprint would be very hectic. Sprint trains were disrupted and some favorites got blocked, Cavendish was one of them.
I had to use that to my advantage. I started the sprint early, but I resisted everyone! This is the greatest thing imaginable, winning in the pink jersey!
