Stage 7
There was some very realistic scenery on the route today
After the break won yesterday, only 3 riders went away today so they had no chance. Hagen got in position behind Forster but Kopp was too slow in leading him out so Hagen went for the sprint early with 200m to go
Hagen pulled away with Rojas and Vaitkus in his wheel
And it turned out to be quite an easy win

Stage 8
Robert Retschke of Wiesenhof is becoming a bit of a breakaway specialist. He was 2nd in the Tour de France stage where David Millar won from a break, he won a stage of the Deutschland Tour in a break, and now he is a stage winner in the Vuelta.
A crash near the finish involved Uran but he is unhurt and no time was lost. Stijn Devolder was also in the crash.

Stage 9
Its a great big roundabout crash with 4.5km to go!
The likes of Zubeldia, Pellizotti, Petrov, Chavanel, Tjalingii and Mosquera all hit the deck.
Up front, Hagen chose the wheel of Freire which was a bad choice. He knew he had to take a risk to win so sprinted from 3km out. 4 riders still have 30 seconds as the sprint began.
The break are caught with 1km to, O'Grady has produced an awesome sprint and now Ventoso and Rojas are making their move
Hagen is well and truly boxed in, theres nowhere for him to go and only 400m to go
Hagen manages to move alongside O'Grady and is temporarily in 2nd but he has to slow a little to avoid causing a crash and must settle for 4th as Ventoso wins
Karpin's Spanish champ led in the Roundabout crash group and its good news for Anton! Zubeldia loses nearly 3 minutes!

While theoretically any 8 of 15 riders could be chosen. Pliuschin, Contador, Nolf, Manan, Perez, Marzoli and Stevic are all unfit at the moment - so conveniently that leaves 8.
Chris Hoy will drag the team along in the TTT, Alexander Efimkin is probably our best overall hope (Unless Stannard can repeat his Plouay form on the important stage).
Swift, Stannard, Hoy, Thomas and Pollock are all Level 3 XP so will gain good experience here, while Mickey Smith is Level 2 so will probably get some experience too. Ben Swift will quickly get up to level 4 XP and this will be his first test as the teams lead sprinter.
Here is Hoy dragging the team on in the short Prologue. At least we didnt finish last this time! (16th)
Amore & Vita are quite clearly doped full of the McDonalds McRat burgers. Laurens Ten Dam is the race leader, since he crossed the line first for Unibet.

Stage 2
We dont want a break to stay away like in last year's Tour of Britain, and the team probably isnt strong enough to chase a break down so the solution? Get a man in the break, it will always get caught.
So Blythe went in it and targeted the KoM points. He won one and although caught out at the 2nd by Holomisa, he will get the jersey
It comes down to a sprint and it is completely unorganised. Ciolek is at the front due to being in the relay train.
And he coasts to victory

Stage 3
Blythe is off with the breakaway again and is in the 2nd group of 5 behind a first group of 5. It takes a lot of work but the groups do merge.
He misses any points at the first KoM, but wins the 2nd one.
The breakaway is tough on Blythe. 3 riders dont work at all while others keep setting a tough race making Blythe struggle to keep up at times. One of the riders who didnt work, Tinkoff's Efrem Salvi, went solo when everyone else was caught. He still had a slight gap as the sprint began.
Ciolek and Goss are the main contenders and its Ciolek who wins. Millar follows the wheels to take 5th.

Swift takes the wheel of race leader Fofonov who goes behind Napolitano who is led by his Lampre teammate Ongarato. Haussler is behind Swift with Thomas behind him but then Thomas is dislodged. He spots Bonnet moving up on the left hand side towards Greipel and gets behind the Frenchman.
Its a great choice by the Welshman as Greipel pulls away. Spotting the danger, Swift switches over.
Bonnet makes his move inside the final kilometre which is made easier when Greipel stops sprinting
Bonnet takes the win and in the process, pulls Geraint Thomas to 2nd.
