The news has just come through that Rio Ferdinand will be the England captain on Wednesday and considering most of our players are fit, he'll probably be the permanent captain

I really think english press is completely stupid (no offense to the english guys in the forum). Why would City be interested in one of the best prodigies in the world. Obviously they cant afford it...

actually Shinawatra will be giving Sven a budget of between 30 and 50 million and Barca have said they will sell Dos Santos for 7 million
Sven has said himself that his transfer-list is very long and Owen is on it, Diego is on it, and some others that I can't remember. He also said that they will bring in a very big name, but they haven't decided which yet.

By the way: Go Man Utd.! Although it's not going too well with my national team (AGF), it's going really well in other leagues (Man Utd., Getafe) |

I want Birmingham to go down - I like Keane as Sunderland manager, so I want them to stay up, Derby knew they were going down in December, Bolton are rubbish without Allardyce, but Fulham will probably go down

I want Birmingham to stay up, but that's only because one of my friends supports them and when they lose I can laugh at him, especially when Man City beat them and there is endless scope for taking the mick out of them for thinking Zarate is awesome and they're going to buy him for 20 million
and I want Sunderland to go down because I hate how they always score right at the end of games to either grab a draw or win the game, which annoys me. I suppose it reflects Keane's personality how they always seem to score late on.
I hope Derby can get past the 15 points as well, so Sunderland still have that record although it seems doubtfull

David Beckham will win his 100th England cap in the friendly against France on Wednesday, coach Fabio Capello has confirmed.
"I couldn't make him come all the way from the USA and not play him," said Capello, who did not reveal whether Beckham, 32, would start the fixture.
"Nobody knows what the future holds. The David Beckham I know can get to 2010 if he works and trains hard."

David still should be in the team - he is still the best right midfielder in the country

I obviously want Fulham to stay but I think Bolton(26pts.) have a tough run in:
vs. Manchester City
vs. Arsenal
at Aston Villa
vs. West Ham United
at Middlesbrough
at Tottenham
vs. Sunderland
at Chelsea
Fulham(23pts.) actually have a lot of games against relegation threatened sides:
at Derby County
vs. Sunderland
at Reading
vs. Liverpool
at Manchester City
vs. Birmingham
at Portsmouth
If Fulham can win the home games versus Sunderland and Birmingham, and take a win and draw from Derby and Reading, that could lead to an escape.
Birmingham(27pts.) have a more difficult schedule too:
vs. Manchester City
at Wigan
vs. Everton
at Aston Villa
vs. Liverpool
at Fulham
vs. Blackburn
Wigan and Fulham are the only games against sides in the bottom half, and Wigan away is a tough game, and Fulham should be motivated at home in a game that could decide both teams fate.
Sunderland(30 pts.) have:
vs. West Ham
at Fulham
vs. Manchester City
at Newcastle
vs. Middlesbrough
at Bolton
vs. Arsenal
much easier than Bolton and Birmingham, but they are crap on the road

He hasn't played 99 games as captain but I get your point.
Crommy; you can't really compare Beckham to other right midfielders in the country. Lennon, Bentley, Wright-Phillips and otheres are all different kinds of player to him. He plays long, cross-field balls and is quite possibly the best crosser in the world, well he used to be.
Lennon and Wright-Phillis are completely different, they run with the ball and attack players instead of slowing the play and hoping for a perfect ball accross the pitch or into the area. They are much very exciting to watch, Beckham is exciting to watch aswell but in a more discrete way, due to the perfection of his passing as apposed to explosive pace down the wing.
Now, Bentley does both, although he needs to get a slight bit faster, because he thinks he's faster than he is, when he tries to go past people. He showed in the last game that he can produce awesome crosses into the box and go past people, so I think he is the best overall right winger in the country but Becks is the best passer/crosser.
I too want him to play as much as possible, but think Capello should really focus on bringing Bentley into the team as he is less predictable than Beckham, and his free-kicks aren't bad either (Bentley that is).
I've always been a fan of Beckham, always loved his play at Man Utd, but since he left, he's lost some of his quality, due to not being in the team much at Madrid. I think it is time to bring Bentley to the starting 11, I'd love for Becks to still be in the squad, but personally I feel Bentley has the edge as a more overall player.
Oh and your point wasn't really valid anyway as Beckham is our best right-midfielder in America, not in this country as he doesn't play in this country

I never really liked Beckham (too extroverted) but he is still a good player...of course I don't know as much about english football as you guys, but I'd still let him start
Anyway, i think Capello should spend more time in looking for a good Goalkeeper...
We could always lend our number 4...that would be Enke

Robinson has no chance anymore, especially now Kameni is going to Tottenham (my favourite goalkeeper so under-rated, just because he's Cameroonian)
I think James will play for a while longer until Foster is fully fit again. Carson is ok but not good under pressure, Green had a very good run but my faith in him went slightly as West Ham lost 4-0 three weeks in a row
Kirkland isn't awful but that's nothing to brag about

About Kameni, he sure is a great keeper, with awesome reflexes. But he has his weaknesses (catching crosses f.e.).
James wasn't too good yesterday....and he isn't the youngest anymore either

James is 37 but thinks he can reach 2010
Last night's performance wasn't bad considering we lost. It was only to a penalty, the disturbing fact is that we only managed 1 shot on target
We need a big target man if Capello will play a 4-2-3-1 (wich I think is a rubbish formation btw). Rooney can't play the target-man and I don't want Crouch playing We need a formation with 2 up front.
And I don't see why Defoe is overlooked all the time, he is the top-scoring English striker in the Premiership and joint top of all the English players in the Premiership. Kitson also has never been capped but he's the second highest goalscoring English player.
When I saw the team-sheets for last nights game, it was never going to be good really, they had more class than us on the pitch and we were playing with 2 defensive midfielders classicly Italian I suppose. Plus Hargreaves was starting, which I hae to see
So got beat by France in the cycling and football in the same day

last night was just again another example of the english team not playing as they should play
they definetly have the class, talent and mentality to win matches, it just has to come together. |

Interesting little fact about Beckham's 100 caps
In a departure from the royal blue caps given to every England international since 1872, David Beckham earned a personalised golden version to commemorate his 100th game in an England shirt. But did you know that Becks will actually be clearing the 85th space in his vast awards cabinet when he formally receives the fancy bonnet at Wembley on May 28, just before the friendly with the USA?
Mr B has legitimately participated in 100 England games, however players are awarded just one cap for each World Cup and European Championships (which each have the names of all opponents faced stitched onto it). He appeared in 20 of England’s 21matches at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 World Cups and the 2000 and 2004 European Championships, leaving him 15 short of a ton.
If Becks is given the opportunity to play up until the 2010 World Cup, he could easily make up the extra 15 barnet covers…
I don't think anyone sticks to these rules and it should be counted as 100 because that's a stupid rule

Fulham are down :cry::cry::cry:
Crap refereeing again though
Derby were going down easy all over the place, and EJ should have had a penalty, Mooore just ran him over
