I prefer buying my music in the shops aswell, it's nice just to be able to show your albums to the world (or the people that accidentily goes into your room instead of the toilet ), and then I do as Smothie just that I have my music in winamp.
I can't remember the last time where I actually went to a shop to buy a CD. I really can't. |

The thing is that I got a fine from the Danish version of the RIAA a few years back. Since then, I've been a little more careful |

Guns blazing, RIAA lawyers sitting on the roof of the copcars. A 200 foot federal judge standing the background telling you that a large burly man will rape you in jail for pirating music. Awesome sight.

Did you know that CrueTrue once uploaded an album from Gin Blossoms to a filesharing site?

I regret it today, actually. On the other hand, it may have had an positive impact on the general public's awareness of the band - you never know |

It's very likely...at least here in this country many international bands become more and more known by the young population due to illegal downloading. Here, some CD's are more expensive than brand new DVD movies, so the people prefer to download the songs in the internet and spend more cash in a good concert from a band they like. In my opinion, that's good, if we look to the minimal percentages that records give to artists for each CD sale.
And there's another thing: the ones who still buy cd's use that downloading to make a selection of the quality of the many albums they think that could be good. If you really like a band and think that random album is good, you're probably going to buy it the same way.
The same thing doesn't happen with games and stuff like that, because that's generally a thing you pass until the end and then put it in a rack for years before touching it again.
