Giro d'Italia Week 3
fickman
Evans should go next year to Vuelta where even an 42 years old man can win and everyone can dope without getting cought

I think Evans still has the ability to hunt for stage victories in GT's.

He is really sharp on the hilly finishes and he is tactically smart. He hasn't had the ability to last on the long and steady climbs for 2 years now, so it's no surprise he isn't going near podium. I'm actually surprised he lasted so long GC wise.

Maybe a season focusing only on 1 week races is still possible for him to get some positive results (for his own standards), but I don't know.

Seems to still do alright in the tougher one day classics as well, though with some of the 'young talent' coming through would probably take a bit of nous and luck to win something like Strade Bianche.

Hes still top 10in the giro... Give the guy some respect.....

I don't think he was showing him disrespect, he is 37 and really should give it up at seasons end so he can go out with something left.

You don't have to retire. You can obtain another role in the team. He looks like a person who really enjoys being a cyclist more than ever, and I'm certain he could adjust his objectives to hunting stages and helping another GC contender for 2-3 years still.

And take Basso with him. Not sure why Cannondale still calls him a climber and GC guy.

Who calls him anything? You didn't notice that he was working for Viviani during sprint stages and has there been any big help for him in mountains?Basso is riding in kind of free role. The saddest part is that Cannondale might have the weakest climbing and GC group of riders in WorldTour, but if they would have some stronger rider I'm pretty sure Basso would gladly help him.

Bullshit, you should have more respect for Evans, at 37 he is still doing great in my opinion. Not Horner great, but still solid.

On topic: Only saw the last 10k but didn't miss much I saw. Gutsy moves by Rolland and Kelderman, too bad it didn't pay off, but atleast they tried. Aru once again showing he has an insanely good last kilometre.

My bet on the final GC.

1. Quintana
2. Uran
3. Aru
4. Rolland
5. Pozzovivo
6. Majka
7. Hesjedal
8. Kelderman
9. Kiserlovski
10. Evans

Aru will be the worst of podium contenders in tomorrow's TT. So I don't. Looks more like Majka or Pozzovivo (if feeling good) for that 3rd spot.

I think Aru will get 3rd on tomorrows TT. Quintana wins safely, Uran next with a small margin down to Aru. But that's just my feel.

Aru can't pace himself, so I doubt that he will do better than Pozzovivo who on the opposite is one of the best in keeping good pace while riding alone.

Isn't it close to 4-5 minutes between Evans and Kiserlovski? He's gonna lose more, but I don't think Kiserlovski will gain that much.

Will be close between Uran and Quintana tomorrow i think.

I think Quintana will win tomorrow for sure, Urán as second. And i definetely think it's possible for Evans to lose that much on Kiserlovski, he is declining rapidly atm.

He might lose 5 minutes, but not on Kiserlovski who is inconsistent.

I wonder if one goes, they both go? Would be really weird rooming by yourself for nearly a week after being with probably a few other people already.

So what you're basically saying is that nothing will change except for Kelderman jumping over Hesjedal and Pozzo and Rolland over Uran?

That sounds like something begging for a romantic movie!

Two guys, the only ones left, start wrecking havoc by going on suicidal two-man breaks everyday. Until one day one of them falls and has to withdraw.

"Please, Svein, if you go I'll go with you!"
"No, you must stay, I can't go on..."
"I won't finish without you!"
"Go!"
"I can't carry that ring, but I can carry you!"
"What are you going, Svein? You can't carry Michael for the rest of the race!"
"He ain't heavy, he's my brother"
"And Iiii-e-III will always looove youuu!"
