Malle/Veranda Rideau, Lastras/Movistar, Perichon/La Pomme Marseille and Geschke/Argos Shimano are the four riders ahead on the road with an advantage of six minutes and thirty seven seconds

The four are still tapping out a nice rhythm

AG2R La Mondiale are controlling the pace of the peleton

Race radio has just confirmed the lead as two minutes and thirty nine seconds

Lastras/Movistar has gone clear on his own but only has a thirty eight second gap on his fellow escapees

The peleton has swept up the majority of today's break, now only Lastras is left

The pelton sweeps in to the final five kilometres all as one again as the final member of the breakaway was reeled in

Euskaltel try to surprise the field with a double attack at the one kilometre to go banner

And it works as Ion Izagirre just holds on to cross the line first

The team kept Jure safe and away from danger today so as to keep his third place on the GC and it was job well done

With a lead of now 3m 38s, six riders have finally managed to snap the elastic from the peleton. They are Bibby/Endura Racing, Cauquil/La Pomme Marseille, Malacarne/Bretagne Schuller, De Negri/Farnese Vini, Geniez/Argos Shimano and Denifl/Vacansoleil

The break is still pounding out a steady rhythm and have increased their advantage to 5m 35s

Cauquil/La Pomme Marseille has lost contact with the front group and is in no man's land

Europcar have come to the front of the peleton to try and reduce the size of the gap which is currently 1m 23s

With all of the breakaway now safely back in the peleton its time for the sprinters teams to come to the fore and set their men up for an exciting finish

Bertogliati/Team Type 1 is setting such a pace at the front of our train that he has caused a split in the peleton and this could be a great move for Jure Kocjan who could reclaim the leaders jersey as his rivals are back in the pack

Unfortunately Cofidis had other plans and have brought the rest up to our train

Delage/FDJ has caught everyone by surprise and gone off the front

But its the Cofidis rider Petit who wins the dash for the line and Serebyakov has to settle for second place today
