i don't think that's fair in my case...
I think i've been a good fan of Cunego
And i haven't jumped even though he is doing bad...
I've liked Anton for a while... well since his Vuelta win in 06... but i wouldn't say i was a fan...
Bruseghin is back the big donkey.... something's happened to him haha... maybe they've changed his feed
I was ready to make a note for isso that he is forgeting Wyman. Wyman is little hysteric and fool enough to keep up as Cunego fan. (no offence..this is a compliment)
But isso sayed that 95% will jump..so Wyman you must be Ãnside that 5%
Haha true... i'm just stubborn
i didn't see the 95% bit sorry :S
Oh and it seems i predicted Anton would do well this Vuelta... just realised i put all my PCM credits on him to win.... go Anton go
95%? That's the overall number of Armstrong fans among the fans of cycling, right?
Indeed, I think I'm loyal fan. As you all probably know, I'm big fan of Bjarne Riis' team. My first touch with cycling came in year 2002, when I saw some random stage of Tour de France as a really young guy, the guy was really well known - Laurent Jalabert. Then years were going, and Jalabert was gone, then came Basso, Voigt, Cancellara, Sastre and then Schlecks and I was still fan of this team, I can say quite easily, I like nearly each rider of this team from years 02' (but mainly from '05 when I really start to follow cycling) to '10, even if they are riding this time in other teams now, like Zabriskie, Basso, Vande Velde, Sastre or Kolobnev. I can say, I never stopped be a fan of this team, or start to really like some other big team/big stars in other teams.
Plus in fact I'm for sure fan of some other riders - Czechs, or Slovaks, like Kreuziger, Rabon, Velits', Sagans, Kulhavy or Stybar.
Anyway, I know quite high number of guys, which are one year big fans of Sastre, next year the biggest fans of Armstrong and another year the god is Cancellara for them.
just finished to watch todays stage..
Mosquera was amazing he cooked Rodriguez and Nibali
Anton was a little stupid to hang back there..and missed completly Mosquera atack. But he did not panic...smart ride there after that cocky hanging back ride.
Anton did that on purpose. It wasn't stupid. He was pacing himself. Riding his own pace not caring about the rest.
Nibali, that is stupid, hanging with the best until you blow up
you need to be realy confident..to race like this. Wait when main rivals atacked and then starting to pass them one after another.
Anton have great acceleration..why he needed to play it like this?

I find this very funny now, considering before the Vuelta even started he said he would work for his bro and the whole drinking escapade.

It has nothing to do with confidence. Just climbing styles.
Anton is obviously a bit different because he is explosive as well. So if he has a good day he'd probably go with them from the start, but now he wasn't feeling good so he chose his own pace.
But take for instance Sastre, Basso and Gesink, all climbers who rather chose their own pace and often pass dropped riders who blow themselves up like Nibali every mountain stage. Over and over again.
A guy like Nibali will never learn. And never win a GT if he doesn't get smarter

you got this right. this guy has lot of potential..and he is still so young, He is already Liquigas best rider. If he will made in Vuelta podium..then wow. beat that two GT podiums young guns
Igor did an amazing job today. He prefers riding at his own speed. Like Sastre, he doesn't panic with attacks... he could lose time today... but I think, between GC contenders, Anton Mosquera and Tondo are the better in form. Nibali raced in the Giro and Purito had ride the Tour.
I expect Igor could make 1'30 against Tondo and Nibali before the final ITT.

oh that's awesome news for one of the Eurosport commentator, who kept saying he likes Milram because they are such a clean team and that's why they don't get any results.

Another good day for Mikel Nieve, who has been this Vuelta's Kevin De Weert or Anthony Charteau. Also, go Nicolas Roche. I have no idea how he turned into a GC guy, but I like him, so whatever.

Nicolas Roche was a quite good GC rider the last 2 years. Never had a Top10, but 10-20 and this Vuelta is maybe the weaker field against last year.
2008: Vuelta 13
2009: Tour 22
2010: Tour 15
Ruben you are being quite harsh on a guy who has got better in every Grand Tour he has ridden in, to say he is never going to win one before he has even started to plateau is stupid especially as the this yearrs Giro he was only beaten by his teammate and someone in a 12 minute break. That's almost a victory right there.
As for what makes him special, yeah the ability to hang on to better climbers, because one year they are not that much better than you and you beat them in the time trial. Also his decending, there are always finishes at the bottom of climbs and if he can steal 30 seconds here and there then he is definately a favourite to win a Grand Tour over the next few years.
Also, as far as Anton goes, yeah it was an impressive ride, but he beat Tondo by 10 seconds, thats not the performance of the third best climber in the world. Anton may well be alone on the step below Schleck and Contador, but until he shows that he is better than Sammy Sanchez, Menchov, Gesink, Basso, Rodriguez, Nibali, Evans, Ricco and Scarponi I remain unconvinced.
