Ive never particularly liked Bos but I am curious to see how well he can do on the Road. Whether a decent Track Sprinter can actually make it or not in the big road races. Theres probably a better chance of finding that out with him at Cervelo than Rabobank

Indeed Cervelo have Haussler and Hushovd already..
Rabo have just lately most of the time out of shape Freire.. |

Ruben says that they talked it out. Right, several days after the incident, Bos had still not called Impey (according to Impey himself on his own blog). That's not very sportive.
(The worst of the above being that had it been the other way around - Impey bringing down Bos - the Dutchies would still be complaining today ... nationalism at its best)
In addition to this, Bos has now decided to leave Rabobank who have supported him during his entire career. But they won't guarantee him a GT-spot with support - that doesn't really sound like a nice guy either. |

And back to Wiggins
When asked about which team he will ride the Tour de France for next year, by the bbc, a sort of Cagey response but it suggests perhaps more than anything Wiggins has said previously that Sky could be on
"Leave it to the experts. Yeh, its unfortunate that but, you know Ive had a good time this year with Garmin and that, but times have changed and the Tour changed everything for me really. We'll see what happens.
It's like trying to win the Champions League - you need to be at Manchester United but I'm playing at Wigan at the moment so I have to make that step up."

The last part isn't true, read the Dutch news of Bos transfer and his reaction. He didn't claim a GT spot at Rabobank. That's a false rumour.
And the first part isn't 100% right either. Yes he didn't call immediately, but later they talked it out. Bos has had several contacts with Impey, even in person, and they put the incident behind them. So again, you are sadly misinformed, this has nothing to do with chauvinism, but with FACTS.
As long as you don't get your FACTS straight, don't bother replying.
Also, I have more right to speak about Bos as a person than you, as I actually met and talked to him a couple of times at the six days events in Amsterdam. He is a very down to earth guy, normal, and what normal people would call a nice guy..
I hate people judging on basis of not basis of 1 video. Now that's disgusting. End of...

RadioShack is interested in signing Marcus Ljungqvist. Marcus says that he has got two offers, and that he will decide after the WC.

Wiggins made his destination next year oh so obvious. His body language gave it away.

Bollocks in the sense it was said with the greatest affection, Wigan are a good side and certain people have taken it out of context!
I could have used Ronaldo leaving ManU for Real, Rooney leaving Everton for ManU, Could have used a cow and a pig, horse and a pony???

Oh and Velonews trying to explain the Premier League:
Like Manchester United, Wigan is in the Barclay's Premier League, the 20-team league that is British Soccer's version of cycling's ProTour. As defending champion, Manchester United is currently ranked second, while Wigan Athletic is ranked 15th.

I have my FACTS straight. Fact is that Impey wrote on his blog that Bos had still not called him several days after the accident. That Bos calls him after huge media 'hype' / pressure, that doesn't mean anything to me.
Also, about the GT thing, I'm not to say what his motives are. But it's rare that there's smoke without fire. Also, this is a quote from General Manager Harold Knebel: "Of course we understand the aspirations of Theo, but there remained a discussion about guaranteed participation in the Grand Tours especially against the backdrop of the large amount of Dutch talent inside the Rabo Team."
So, according to Rabobank, he did want a guaranteed GT spot.
So far, I'm yet to say anything which isn't a fact. |

My newspaper today said Bos plans indeed on riding a GT next season, most likely not the TdF, which he wants to do in '11.
The Cervelo general manager (or DS, dont know exactly) said that 'there is no road rider capable of beating Cavendish. We need a track sprinter to reach that sort of speeds.' Also, if not for this first season right away, Bos will get a train riding for him eventually, attempting to challenge Cav.
Bos also said Rabobank offerd more money, but he chose for Cervelo for the above mentioned reason(s). |
