ahhh from letour.fr
Kim Anderson of the CSC team was following Fabian Cancellara when he crashed and, at the finish, he had this to say: "It’s just bad luck," said the directeur sportif. "He is a little bit sore, I’d imagine. He came down hard but it was just a slip of the front wheel and there was nothing he could do about it. It’s one of those things and it’s a lesson for everyone today: you’ve got to be careful as well as fast."
Cancellara has the 29th best time, 6’31" behind Wiggins. He had the second best time at the first check but the crash near the end of the 54km race hindered his hopes. After crossing the line, Cancellara went straight into a campervan parked a couple of hundred meters past the line and was tended to by a soigneur. He appeared concerned about his hip but didn’t appear too injured. He was walking fine and is probably more shaken than hurt.

Yet ahead of Cancellara though who supposedly only crashed towards the end of the tt.

no... he's only 4th

and it's clear he's pacing himself as at the 1st checkpoint he was 1min 45secs behind Bradley, and now at the 2nd checkpoint he is 1min 50secs behind

so i think the gap will start to come down near the end

i mean don't get me wrong, he won't win, but he isn't way back

a motorbike just crashed!! Shock how many times do you see that?

CrueTrue
Wiggins finished in rain, but throughout most of the stage he rode in dry weather.

A motorbike crashed? It actually happened a few days ago in another TdF stage Pfft

HEAVILY. sprawling through the rain, almost running into the rider that was ahead

it was not funny Frown

am I the only one surprised that it only took wiggins 56 minutes to ride 56km?

ouch. Cancellara replay now. he was going extremely slow and still crashed. this was ugly.

there are going to be big surprises and big differences, both in the GC battle. because someone is going to crash with the GC favorites. considering how crucial time is for them, that's almost a given.

this is surreal...it's 35 degrees here and not a cloud!! how can this be happening in southern france that isn't that far away?? Frown

actually it is looking very good for Wiggo, it's now chucking it down, the wind has picked up, he could be on for a win.

but big George is up next, so we'll see how well he does

i think Wiggins stands a good chance. Top 3, doubt he'll finish 1st though
