So, is that a proof of a cleaner Eneco Tour or the other way around?
Never.

So? Nothing out of the ordinary, check his results in tours like the Tour of Dunkerque and other small 2.1 tours. You wouldn't find this result strange at all anymore.
Though, this is really his maximal possible level. He won't become much better then this |

don't say that. It's impossible to tell. So many riders at his age were average or worse and went on to become great champions.
At his age (28), Simoni was a mechanic in a bike shop...

Mark Cavendish won stage 1 of the Tour of Ireland today from Dublin - Waterford
tomorrow is Thurles-Longhrea
Tour of Ireland is a fantastic race and if you're in the UK is on everynight at 7pm on ITV4. Watch it!

given that all remaining stages are flat (bar one that's mildly flat) and that Holm said they'll try to control the race, I'm expecting a bunch sprint every day.

yeah, agreed. The irish sports minister said to ITV "To have a name like Cavendish in yellow is fantastic for the race, we couldn't have wished it any better. It will inspire more people to come and watch the race"
Planned for Cavendish? Maybe.
But it's normally got amazing scenery making it amazing watching.

Great day out!
Todays wasn't all that flat, the cat.1 climb up mount leinster showed...there were only sixty riders left in the bunch at the finish.
Columbia really did control the race today, the way things are going he could win every stage!
1, Mark Cavendish (Team Columbia) 5 hours 9 seconds
2, Alexander Kristoff (Joker Bianchi) at 4 secs
3, Julian Dean (Garmin Chipotle) at 5 secs
4, Matt Wilson (Team Type 1) at 8 secs
5, Boy Van Poppel (Rabobank) at 11 secs

Cavendish looked quite strong really, he was at the head of the bunch close to the top of that category 1 climb.

On Garmin's website, they said that Dean finished second. Dan Martin has a stomach bug that started during the Tour of Portugal |

Van Popel living up to his father's name as a sprinter....oh wait, his father was a GOOD sprinter
plus, very gay name. "Boy". Is his middle name "George" by any chance? was Jean-Pierre subconsciously trying to extricate himself from wooden furniture while naming his son?

Why are you bashing Van Poppel? Besides, Boy is a very normal name in Holland.
Second, Van Poppel is extremely young, so why do you say he isn't good? You don't know, I think for his age, this is a good result. |
