I thought this Giro couldn't possibly get any more insane.
I was wrong.
Sastre is on his way to winning the Giro, if this continues.
But it's too early to chase. Let's see what happens later.
Naa, they wont be able to sustain that advantage the entire race. It's already down to 15'30.

This is why the giro is my favourite stage race.... you couldn't write this stuff... totally unpredictable racing... is there a full run down of the 56 man group yet? I'm hoping Gibo made it

Back up to 15'45 - it is the longest stage, and with only Astana chasing, BMC failing at chasing and Liquigas possibly chasing, I'd not rule out anything yet

I can see the break getting more than 20 minutes. 56 guys against 6 or 7 chasing. I know that in the front all the 56 cyclists are relaying but that gap seems pretty manageable.

Bookwalter (BMC), Codol y Donati (Acqua), Dupont y Efimkin (AG2R), Bertogliati, Ochoa, Serpa y Wurf (Androni), Jufre y Stangelj (Astana), Voeckler, Gaudin y Trofimov (Bouygues), Amador, Arroyo, Jeannesson, Kiryienka y Losada (Caisse), Sastre, Tondo, Gustov y Wyss (Cervélo), Moncoutie y Fouchard (Cofidis), Pozzovivo (Colnago), Millar y Martin(Garmin), Cheula y Mayoz (Footon), Bono (Lampre), Dall Antonia, Agnoli, Kiserlovski y Vanotti (Liquigas), Bakelants, De Greef, Lloyd y Wegelius (Omega), Cataldo y Pineau (Quick Step), Kruijswijk y Ardila (Rabobank), Wiggins, Barry, Cummings y Possoni (Sky), Goss (Columbia), Caruso, Petrov y Horrach (Katusha), Gerdeman, Russ (Milram), C. Sorensen, Didier y Porte (Saxo Bank)
So Liquigas has 4 men up ahead, wich means they have "only" 5 men in the peloton, with 2 of them being Basso and Nibali...

128 - with the 1 minuter per 10km rule, not even factoring in the 56 riders, they should make it easily

Columbia has Goss at the front so will also not help in the back group.
I don´t understand why Astana and Liquigas don´t tell some of their riders to wait for the leaders group. |

We have to trust Gazzetta in this, until there are no images.

A break of a billion riders lol. Does that count as a break or can we say they dropped the rest of the peloton? |

when do you think Astana is going to start paying to the other teams for help on the chasing? |
