Here we go with the 15th stage! Another mountain arrival is waiting for our team and especially for the captain Maxime Monfort. We never thought he could do so good as he showed the last stages. As we know his great shape, our new goal should be at least a Top 5 position..or maybe the podium
There were no important events in the first parts of this stage until the longest climb of today´s race came. "Sammy" Sanchez was the first GT contender who made a move with more than 30 kilometres to go
Monfort felt just amazing today and we decided to send him after Sanchez
No real big surprise when Alberto Contador started his attack! He had to do that as Monfort was only 66 seconds behind him in the overall
When the top of the climb was passed many groups were built. Monfort, Contador and Leipheimer managed to get a nice position in the leading group
Behind them it was Andy Schleck who started another attack out of a chasing group with Menchov, Sanchez, Rodriguez, Vande Velde and Wiggins
With only 1 kilometre to go, Monfort had no chance to stay in front with Contador and Andy Schleck who was really fast in the end. Even Contador couldn´t follow Schleck
Congrats to Saxo Bank and Andy Schleck. Really impressive finish by Andy. Contador takes the second position with 12 seconds to the stage winner
Monfort got another great podium with 34 seconds to Schleck. He was able to raise the gap to Leipheimer, Menchov, Moreau and Co

After an impressive stage win by Andy Schleck yesterday and another podium for Monfort, we´re ready for the next hard mountain stage!
Maxime Monfort´s shape is still amazing and I´m sure he can do well again. Contador and Schleck are still the favorites for the yellow jersey
After a few moves by Löfkvist, Sanchez, Menchov and Gesink, Andy Schleck is the one who started today´s fight for the stage win and for the overall
But Alberto Contador seemed to be really strong again. Just a few seconds after Schleck´s attack, he´s following him
And also Monfort had no problem to went after his main rivals. Everything looked like, there´s another fight between Schleck, Contador and Maxime Monfort
At the KoM competition, there was already built a leading group with Contador, Schleck, Monfort, Menchov and Leipheimer. Sanchez, Klöden, Wiggins and Löfkvist came in one of many chasing groups
After a long donwhill section, Monfort tried to get away on a small hilly part with only 3 kilometres to go. No one was interested to go after him..so another stage win for us?
Within the last kilometre, Monfort could stay 20 seconds in front of Contador&Co
That´s it! Monfort managed to win another stage at the Tour 2010 in front of Schleck, Leipheimer, Menchov and Contador. They lost 20 seconds to Maxime
Stage results

I´ve already played the next stage a few minutes ago. Well, I just want you to know, that this stage was so spectacular and exciting, with really surprising results for the overall and many good news for Columbia but also really really bad news for us..so hope you will enjoy that
Because of my tennis training in a few minutes, I will try to post the stage tonight |
