Sagan was actually in the lead from stage 3 until stage 20 to Tre Cime!! He lost it briefly in the middle but he kept winning more time on the hilly stages. Really weird. The winner was Van Den Broeck by the way. Kind of shatters the realism. Especially when I just got beaten by Acevedo in the Tour Series! |

Well, VdB isn't that weird...
Though of course, he wouldn't go for the Giro normally, but at least he's good

True, but beating Nibbles by a couple of minutes in the Giro is pretty weird. |

In my carreer with Astana, Sky decided to put everything on the Giro i believe.. My goal is to win the Giro and the Tour, so i send Nibali to the tour, Fuglsang to the Giro. I'm currently in 10th position, 1'54 behind Froome. 4 stages done, only flat and hilly so far
And of course.. Sky crushed everyone in the TTT...
My opposition:
Froome (1st)
Wiggins (already 12 minutes behind, he got involded in a big crash in the first stage and now he has to bring back break-aways )
Uran (3rd)
Betancur (2nd)
Rodriguez (4th)
Dan Martin (5th)
Hesjedal (6th)
Talansky (17th)
Sagan (11th)
And some more good climbers, but those are normal for Giro level.

If Hesyedal can win Giro, why Vdb can't win it? |

Guys I have a question.
In what races do you put your main leader to go to TDF? I'm with SKY and Froome has the first part of the season planned to do Tour of Oman, Tirreno-Adriatico and Volta a Catalunya. He has already won the first two and now in the 3rd. He has, at maximum, level 2. On the period of the Tour, on the season screen, already show that he'll be tired in the final week and the fatigue probably won't let him get his total potential. I'll just put him in Dauphiné and I hope it's enough to win. I know the other riders will be tired too but I'm a bit afraid against the strength of Nibali and Contador.
Career wise, it's been a very successful season. Sutton already won a stage at TDU and get a couple of top-3 in other races losing only to Cavendish and Kittel. Sagan or Greipel won't there though. Some top-10 in TDU. Geraint Thomas came very close to the final win in TDU but luck wasn't by our side.
Like I said Froome had already won that races. I reckon it's very easy playing with him, even if, in Oman, the team did a pretty good job. Tirreno-Adriatico was easy too and hope now I can win the Catalunya Tour. The main goal is obviously the TDF.
Wiggins win Volta ao Algarve and came 2nd in Paris-Nice. Those hilly stages proved to be to strong for him and his lack of acceleration, even with team-mates setting the pace. He'll be now a strong domestique in the Giro for Sergio Henao. Made this call due to the lack of acceleration from Wiggins. That could be crucial. Wiggins will let the team in the end of the year. Hope I can bring a more explosive leader.
Porte will be the leader in Tour of the Basque Country and the last man of Froome in TDF. A pretty nice top-10 in Paris-Nice, without any competition before, was already achieved. He's now in Catalunya in order to help Froome.
The two early-cobblestones classics were very nice to play. Eisel won Omloop and Thomas came 3rd in KBK. I know, it was strange for me too but they were very strong indeed and benefit of the work of their domestiques. Quite nice to races to play I must say. Hope this form will be there in the spring classics too. Opted to don't let my cobbles squad ride P-N or T-A to go more fresh. Let's see what happens!
In MSR it was a bit frustrating. EBH and Froome were at the front in Poggio, alongside Cancellara and another rider I couldn't remember. They got a pretty nice advantage. 1 minute I'd say. However the pack chase back and eventually ended in a massive sprint at the end. Our sponsor give the top 10 objective but EBH only could reach 11. Well, I surely learned for the future!
Finally, the Colombian duo. Henao will be the main leader in Giro and will help Uran in the Ardennes. Later on he'll be on top form, I hope, for Lombardy and the Worlds! Uran will lead the team in Ardennes and he'll skip the Giro in order to be at the top level at Vuelta.
Let's see what future brings! |

While I do my story, I usually have another career going that I use whenever I get a dip in motivation. I'm into February with an Israeli team. I have only 11 riders, and all of them are from Israel and Greece. I hope that I can win 1 race this year

Thats a good challenge
My motivations always drops a bit when i'm riding a GT and my rider cant make the goals. Or when i don't have a sprinter and there are some flat stages, knowing i have to play them because my leader is in yellow or pink or red and the simulation sometimes gives strange results
(And sometimes i just put the speed at 8x and i don't pay much attention, to realise later the breakaway won with 20minutes advantage and/or all my riders are thirsty

Hmm, a team build around the Yates twins is a pretty good idea...
Both different speciality, but still able to help each other pretty good on the other guy's terrain.
Dammit, why doesn't Kelderman have a puncheur twin
Beacuse you would talk about Keldermann family twice more and that would kill us all.

Team NetApp, Start of May, difficult is hard, team unchanged - only Herklotz (only waterboy) was coming in: Leading the CT-Ladder with 350 Pts (1100 so far).
König (seems a little bit too strong/CT Leader) wins Turkey and an early 2.1 stage-race, 7. in Catalunya WT. Mendes some 2.1 Top10, Kluge and Schorn HC.1 Top Ten and 2-3 .1 wins, Cruz is hunting mountain jerseys ....
Little bit too easy. But extreme would be for me unrealistic.
Problem: Next year, Sponsoring is too low |

Well, I'm now in July with Madison and it looks like we're gonna get promoted this season . Bibby has been a machine as usual, he's 7th in the Conti rankings, helped by the fact that he just finished 2nd in Valle d'Aosta because he was in a breakaway that was allowed to finish 17 minutes ahead of the peloton . Simon Yates is 26th and Adam is 36th in the rankings so not too bad.
I don't have the budget to go for a good Pro Conti squad but I have signed Swift ! He was the only sprinter left when we hit July. Also added plenty of young talent, so I should be able to stay Pro Conti next season, especially with the Yateses. I only signed 1 U23 but I'm pretty damn happy with him!
His FL and REC are clearly big weaknesses, so I'll have to work on them first but we could have another great Irish climber. He won Ronde de l'Isard and the Course de la Paix. |

Looks like you're going to have a very good squad on all terrains for next season then! |

Well, my season has been going slowly and so far it's still February.
I sort of divided the team in 3. On side will be lead by Barry Markus and that is it. It will be a clear cut sprint squad, nothing more, nothing less. All the other riders will be on board to work for him. So far no races. They only start in March.
The climbing side has Elisonde, Fernandez and Morton and some other helpers. Mainly Elisonde is expected to be the spearhead, but should opportunity arise the others will also get a chance. Only one race to stretch the legs.
As for the other squad, It's a bit of a mix of sprint and hill talent. Van Poppel, Enger and Jungels are the main contenders for some spotlight and they should all have a go at times. Poppel already scored a couple of podiums and some top 10's. Jungels also did something nice. These guys will mainly go for flat stages and some breakaways.
The team is a bit short, but they will be interlocking a bit. With some staff I'm expecting them to show us more by the end of the season and, should a miracle occur, get promoted.

KBK was just won by a 19 man breakaway group and Farrar could still only manage third, was won by Bouhani but he should have finished second and possibly should have won because Bouhani had to pull back a late C.A. Sorenson bid for glory by himself.

Ok weird TDU result just happened. Firstly a breakaway gained 5+ minutes on 3 stages.
In the end Kolobnev won the GC, but Serry (OPQ) was 2nd and Markus (VCD) was 3rd. The Top20 also included such names as: Rathe, Haas, Verdugo, Dumoulin, Rasch and some others who escape me. Seriously f'ed up.

That's how close I came to winning the RideLondon Classic. Rowe beat Tennant by that much. Sponsor goal was a top 10 so I'm pretty damn happy with second but wow. I had to check the difficulty to see if it had gone to easy but it hadn't. Tennant has 71SP by the way, Rowe has 76. Navardauskas got 3rd. Excited for the ToB now!
EDIT: And Adam Yates just won the Tour des Pyrenees when Navarro crashed out on the last stage . He beat Zoidl by 7 seconds.
What a day.

One thing I find about some sprints is that if you have a train and have someone start the sprint as soon as possible (3km to go) the other sprinter will (not always) sprint too, making them tire way before the line.

You should be OK since you have about 200k to spare plus the money in the bank is about the same as the as the sponsors pay. Make sure you check rider wages.
Just use excel.
Balance + Sponsor Revenues - Rider wages - Staff wages = leftover money.
The 36k is monthly, right? That is 432k a year
