Tour de Romandie
Pew, that was close…
A lot of hard work paid in the end. Jakob is back in yellow, but the final stage will be a fierce battle where every second counts!

sutty: I very much agree
Ian: Thanks. This could very well be the closest Tour de Romandie in history!
jakstar: Lets hope so...
PCM rulezz: In deed. Time to overdo himself on the final stage!
I will start playing the final stage in a moment, so the report should be up sometime today

1 second... Romandie is always very close in PCM 11, think I won it in my story (Gesink was the one) with a margin of 1 second to EB Hagen...

Rider of the month: Tom Boonen, RadioShack - Nissan. King of the cobbles and WT-leader – not much more to say really…
Nordic rider of the month: Jakob Fuglsang, Volvo – STARK. A disappointing Ardennes-week was compensated by a massive effort in Tour de Romandie. Based on a strong tactical sense and some good TT’s Fuglsang surprised everyone by taking the overall win.
Jakob Fuglsang, Volvo - STARK
A month of ups and downs for you. How could you transform that much from the Ardennes to Romandie?
Firstly the TT’s were a big advantage for me, but then it was all the small things. In the Ardennes I felt terrible as soon as I got on my bike every day and this last week I felt terrible whenever I got off my bike.
How did you find it in you to beat the likes of Contador and Rodríguez?
To be honest I didn’t. I was far from their level on the climbs and had one of the stages finished uphill I would not have won. I had a couple of good TT's and then it was more a case of no one being able to beat me rather than me beating rveryone...
Just as I wouldn’t have won if the others had been aware of the bonus seconds. This was a tactical win rather than a show of power.
Is that what your new team is about for you?
You could say that. We will always be the underdogs in the World Tour races as none of our riders are among the best in the world on paper, but with good tactics and strong teamwork we are able to achieve more than the names on the roster justify. Do I have to remind you how many mountain jerseys we have won this far?
And now of to the Giro: Will you win that too?
I think not, but then again I didn’t expect to win Romandie…
I will be aiming for a top 10, but there are a lot of better climbers than me in the peloton.
