Great sprint by Farrar and Garmin.

Looked like he wanted Dean to win, but Dean couldn't quite hold on.

I only saw a bad quality stream and couldn't quite see what happened with the Sky rider who was in front of Farrar?
Edit: or was it McEwen?

Good sprint and out of the rain for once. McEwen showed some good signs today, maybe Farrar will have some competition next time

Got squeezed out on the left turn 250m on the line by the Garmin lead out guy - had to slow up massively not to crash and by then, it was game over

Farrar receives 100 litres of olive oil for winning this stage.

Tomorrow it's time for another 'spectacolo classica'. The last 1.2 kms are at 7% average with a maximum of 11% as I saw. Not the Mur de Huy but still very interesting to see. |

after 60km (still 200km to go) 56 (!!!) men breakaway with more than 12 minutes over the peloton.
update: gap is now 13:45
Carlos Sastre, Bradley Wiggins, Domenico Pozzovivo and Richie Porte are in the breakaway. Richie Porte is virtually in pink jersey atm.

There is Carlos Sastre and Richie Porte there, wich means Richie is the virtual leader.

I thought this Giro couldn't possibly get any more insane.
I was wrong.
Sastre is on his way to winning the Giro, if this continues.
But it's too early to chase. Let's see what happens later.

14'47"
very tactical race.
everyone is probably waiting for astana to chase, putting pressure on vino. If they chase now, vino might remain all alone in the last kms.
liquigas might be interested in chasing too, they only have agnoli in the front group. |

Wiggins is up front too....with teammates.
This is getting good.
Still 4 or 5 hours to go, though

If I were Liquigas, I wouldn't chase. Agnoli is up front, he's a very good climber, he has minutes on a not-in-top-form Wiggins and an injured Sastre.
He can win the Giro.

BMC and Astana have started chasing. The result?....the gap rises to 17 minutes
