At the foot of the final climb, I wanted Gerrans to win it so Im happy (Shame that Pate just couldnt quite manage it in the final few metres, although a good recovery from him after being the weakest of the 4 on the Agnel).
Ive very glad that Frank Schleck got the Yellow as I am not convinced that he is CSC's best rider for overall. Although Sastre appeared to be struggling at part of the climb (bluffing?) he looked very strong at the end. Also good from Andy, he just never gave up and was a great aide for his teammates.
I cant believe how unlucky Menchov was. If it were not for the crash he may well have gone on to take the Yellow, he looked very good then and still looked good after coming back from the crash.
Its too little too late for Valverde, while Evans definately needs the rest day tomorrow. He may fancy his chances in the TT but I just cant see how he will limit his losses enough on the stages to Jausiers and Alpe d'Huez

i think you mean Silence Lotto epic fail, i bet they are shitting themselves at the cash they forked out for popovych only to see him get dropped annoyingly easy leaving Cadel to have to chase everything by himself until those that havent attacked can get past him.
CMON CADEL! hes just gotta rest up, follow menchovs wheel up L'Alp and blitz everyone in the TT no worries and get the first Aussie TDF!

Menchov has the most bad luck ever. He was riding away from everyone, and then he falls. Wow...
And he attacked 5 times on the final climb, I've never seen him attack before in my entire life |

Rodda, Evans wasnt even chasing that much. Just wheel sucking as much as he could. If he can only win the Tour with a strong team then he doesnt deserve to win.

Evans didn't chase anyone, he just hoped that the entire group would stay together and he could hang on.
And Sastre was the person who's brake split the peleton and he had already attacked twice at that stage.
Evans did nothing and is basically waiting for the TT

GerransB)
Menchov was so unlucky, he managed to get a decent gap in the end, but it could've been a lot bigger had he not have slipped. It's clear he had the legs by attacking, crashing and then bridging back up to the favourites again and getting clear again...

Schlek and Sastre very close together on the GC, it benefits team tactis a lot, both are on one of the strongest, if not the strongest team of the whole tour. Great ride by Andy Schleck.
Bernard Kohl in second, Menchov lurking, Evans hanging on... what an amazing Tour. |

Another strong performance from CSC-Saxpbank today that confirms
1. They are the strongest team.
2. They're the smartest
3. They're not to be underestimated
Glad Fränk took the jersey and both Andy and Carlos showed off their strength on Prato Nevoso. I don't understand why none of you count him as a serious candidate to the overall victory. Sure his TT is weaker than Evans and Menchov(not to mention Vandevelde), but come on guys...CSC toyed with favorites today, and Carlos won 45 sec. on Evans, and I'm confident he'll take more time on over the next two stages. Wait and see

Sure Sastre's TT is weaker than Evans, sure Sastre's climbing is weaking than Evans (on most days), sure i will look at Sastre's career and notice that he havent got anything worth showing, sure i will call him an outsider. But as long as Evans still is ahead of him and there's still a TT to go. Evans can win.

Well, since DK don't have a profile like Michael Rasmussen to compete for the overall victory this year, we support Team CSC and always have. It's a danish team, and the riders are heroes to all danish cycling fans, and it's no secret that they rule the race

Evans not having his team around him does not hold weight for me, Vandevelde and Menchov were not surrounded by their team yet they blew Evans away. I think the rest day and the fact that the pressure of not being in yellow will be in Evans favour.

No disrespect but they are not ruling the race. 1 stage win and 1 day in yellow is hardly a domination, just yet. |
