I could imagine this will change next season. Now they have a lot of good riders, especially enough sprinter to fight for the sprinter jersey of all GT`s.
There are just 9 riders for the Tour but about 20 which would earn it, so they will probably send the "poor" non Tour riders to other big races and have good squads for many more races. |

Also, this makes 30 riders. Garmin is done.
To make things a little bit clearer, this is the status with Garmin:
2011 squad (30 riders, which is the maximum allowed limit)
Bobridge, Carlsen, Danielson, Dean, Duggan, Fairly, Farrar, Fischer, Haussler, Hammond, Hesjedal, Howes, Hushovd, Kessiakoff, Klier, Kreder, Lancaster, Le Mével, Lloyd, Maaskant, Martin, Meyer (Travis), Millar, Navardauskas, Rasch, Stetina, Talansky, Vande Velde, Vansummeren, Zabriskie
Leaving:
Cozza, Hunter, Lowe, Meier, Meyer (Cameron), Pate, Peterson, Tuft, Van der Velde, Wilson

My personal hope fot Tuft is that he goes to SpiderTech, but now that he's ridden for a PT team he'll probably want to stay on a bigger team. Fly V would be a good option. Lots of other english speakers so he always has someone to talk to, rather than sign with Geox and not have anybody to talk to. |

Quite a squad.
Too bad their philosophy is to always send the same riders to important races to the point of exhaustion and generally not care much for anything that's not named Paris-Roubaix or Tour de France.
This is not just a Garmin problem but an American problem. The average American cycling fan only pays attention to those two races in Europe.

I thought I read somewhere that Tuft had already renewed for 2 more years with Garmin? Also, I think Peterson may be riding for a renewal in the Vuelta. Out of all the original TIAA-CREF riders, I think he's the one that JV would like to keep the most. |

The average American fan has heard of Paris-Roubaix?! News to me |

Phinney still doesn´t know where to go as the new LUX-team also wants him and they´re riding Trek bikes. RadioShack isn´t an option anymore

Anyone has an idea why Phinney doesn't want to sign with RSH? Is it really due to the sponsorship expirement? |

He says that longevity it's most important for him and RadioShack will not continue after next year

Cozza maybe to BMC? Lowe, Wilson and Meyer to Fly V. Meier and Tuft to SpiderTech, Pate will maybe retire? Peterson possibly to BMC as well, and Hunter maybe to Sky (If he has the confidence in the team). |

Confidence in the team to do what?
Besides, it doesnt work like that. Hunter cant approach Sky and say "Im confident in your team" and so is signed.
Id be surprised if Sky signed Hunter, they wont be making many new signings - and I dont see Hunter bringing any benefit to the team at all.
