It's hard to like a guy who said that he didn't want to manage Newcastle again, a few years ago

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has sent out a 'come and get me' plea to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The Ivory Coast striker said: "Any striker in my situation would be really happy to get the chance to play alongside Samuel Eto'o.
"I don't see why it should not happen. It would be something exceptional but Barcelona need to get their chequebook out.
"The things I love about Samuel are his pace, his instinct for goals, his running and simply the fact he is indispensable to Barcelona.
"When Chelsea played a Barca side that was without him, we knew we'd have the game won even before we took the field.
"Every Chelsea player would say the same and Jose Mourinho as well. When he learned that Samuel wasn't playing against us in October 2006 he told us: 'We've won.'"

Barcelona already have too many forwards - when will they understand that they need a new defence |

He's much better than Valdés but Valdés is Catalán so will always get the games. Pinto could be a starter for most teams, so either he's after the money or he's an idiot for signing there.

It's definately for money, he knows that he won't be 1st choice.
I think Drogba would be awesome at Barca, but if they blow £30million on him(What Chelsea want) then the defense won't change at all. It has been better this season, but it's still not a title-challenger's defence

For those who don't know, I think a special mention is required for Havant and Waterlooville, from the Blue Square South, have reached the 4th round of the FA Cup and will play at Anfield. They are 123 places behind Liverpool in the football league and as a bunch of part-timers have said they will fight each other for Stevie G's shirt
To get there, they went to Swansea and got a 1-1 draw, took them back to their place and won 4-2 This is against Swansea, 1st in the Coca Cola League 1 and Havant and Waterlooville, 13th in the Blue Square South
They're on £150 a week, well the best of them, and for the Liverpool match, they all get a £75 bonus
I don't like them though as they knocked out York

I wanted Swansea to win, but at least Swansea can focus on not messing up League 1 now. They are 3 points clear with a game in hand over 2nd placed and 3 games in hand over the 3rd place team.
I hope Havant beat Liverpool, just cause it would be funny

For the Brits, highlights of the African Cup of Nations is on tonight at 7pm on BBC3. Always very good to watch.
And onto some personal news. Today I got given David James' trackies from when he was in his final year at Man City. My Aunt knows the groundsman and David James gave them to him last week. (no idea why he only gave them last week) But still, i have Calamity James' trackiesB)
I'm not going to wear them because that would be weird also he is insanely tall, I'm 5'10 and they're quite a lot too big for me

They have a good team, but they were playing against Ghana: Essien, Appiah, PinPong, Asamoah and others.

Ghana do have a great team, they should be in the final or semi's at the very least.

February 6th marks the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster and the game scheduled for then is the Man Utd vs Man City derby. City asked United if they could have a minute's silence and United said yes.
The club had been asked by Manchester City's supporters' club to have a minute's applause before their home Premier League game on 10 February.
It feared that the occasion could be marred by disrespectful visiting fans.
But United spokesman Phil Townsend said they would not change their plans, telling the BBC: "It's a solemn event."
He added: "We don't think applause is the best way to commemorate the death of 23 people."
"We are wearing a special kit, decorating the away concourse area, and members of Frank Swift's family are attending the game.
"We also spoke to United and expressed our concerns about a minute's silence"
"United took those concerns away and came back and said they wished to continue with the idea of a minute's silence.
"We respect their decision and, ultimately, it is their decision because it is their home game and, clearly, the tragedy was felt more at Manchester United than anywhere else.
"However, the whole of Manchester shared the grief."
Both United and City have already announced they will wear special kits for the Manchester derby.
United will wear a replica of their 1958 kit, devoid of the players' names or shirt numbers, while City's will incorporate a black ribbon with their sponsor's branding removed.
City's supporters' club spokesman Kevin Parker explained the reasoning behind its decision to write to United requesting a minute's applause, saying it would only take one "buffoon" or "idiot" to ruin the special occasion.
"Being a Manchester City fan and living in the city of Manchester all my life, I know the rivalry between these two football clubs," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"Unfortunately, there is also, in some small areas, a great degree of hatred.
"We are concerned as an organisation that it will only take one of those idiots to decide to shout something stupid and then the whole situation has been spoilt forever.
"We are calling for applause just in case. We can't be wrong for doing that, surely.
"We want this to be for the good of football, the good of Manchester, for the good of Manchester City."
He added: "If Manchester United played Liverpool on the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, I'm sure that they wouldn't hold a minute's silence.
"I'm sure they would now consider holding a minute's applause instead. It's the reality of the situation. We can't be wrong for asking Manchester United to consider this."
City have also written to the 3,000 of their fans who have tickets for the derby to ask them to show respect.

Some guy tried to fix the Mali vs Benin game. Benin coach Reinhard Fabisch got approached before the match by a guy who asked if there was a chance of manipulating the game. Fabisch told him that he had 2 minutes to get out of the hotel or he would call the police and then told his players that if they were approached, to call the police.
Mali won 1-0 in the end but Fabisch says:
"I will definitely go all the way to clear this bribery attempt from my point of view,"
"I stand by what I've said and I will give Caf the name and number of the person who offered the bribe. That's all I can do."

Speculators say that Barcelona will be offering 12M € + Thierry Henry for Didier Drogba.
Would be a good deal for Barca... |
