Just a quick question, why dont great timetrials like Cancellara, Zabriske, ... race in track cycling (that 3 km timetrial, forgot how its called), are they not allowed, dont want to, too tired. I think that a powerhouse like Cancellara could easily ger a medal. |

They just don't want to. A high level of specialisation is needed for each discipline of road and track, and even more for any particular event of road or track.

Its the 4km Individual Pursuit
Well, it is a different type of bike, they wont necessarily be able to easily do well. I think Cancellara did look into it, but it seems he chose not to.
To take part, they would need to have qualified. Something which they didnt even try to do. It would be interesting to see what they could do though.

The 2 Malaysians both made it straight through to the Semis of the Keirin. Awang won his heat, Ng was 2nd behind Edgar (After Chiappa's DSQ)

Isso its a fucking game and unfortunately blocking is part of the game, deal with it. Id give anything to stop blocking too but there is nothing going to change. |

Well I just saw some blocking in the most recent repechage, so it does happen.

I was referring to the fact that eurosport tends to go large stretches of time without showing how many points each person has, leaving us with no clue

In the Keirin i saw a semi-blocking. The Japanese guy that won the repechage he was zigzaging in front of the other guys to dont let the pass.

Did the others yell and whine about it? Did they try to have him kicked from the Olympics? Did they feel like they were moral winners? No on all three counts? There you have it, no harm in semi-blocking.

A. Zig-Zagging
B. Zig-Zagging left and right mimicking the moves of the person behind you so as to keep them from passing you.
Riders do A. You do B. with the express intention of pissing people off
EDIT: french and NCL guys do C. move in front of a guy who's coming from behind at double your speed. ever seen a real rider do that?
