For the record, Eisel's classics season:
TDU: dropped on the hilly stage, pulled the sprint in 3 stages and attacked the other 2
Volta ao Algarve: dropped in 2 stages, another was a TT, another went for the sprint, another got into the break, then attacked the break and soloed for the win
Het Volk: had the flu
Paris-Nice: attacked on the flat stages. dropped in all the mountain stages except the Ventoux stage...where he got into the break
Milano-San Remo: water boy for the sprinter
Dwars door Vlaanderen: missed the winning break
E3 Prijs Vlaanderen: attacked 4 times in total. Hoffman was at one time yelling at him "Use your brain!!!"
De Panne: attacked on one stage, pulled the sprint in the other two
Ronde Van Vlaanderen: helped Hincapie, finished 11th
Paris-Roubaix: Attacked, was caught and went again. That was the attack that broke up the peloton.
The nice part is the duality. When he's working for sprinters he never attacks, when he isn't, he always attacks (unless it's a hard hilly/mountainous stage where gets dropped)

Eisel still has great potential as classics rider in my opinion, but he could've shown more by now |

Last year was his only season as a classics rider. He was determined to be a sprinter before that. Give him time. He might (not likely) be a great classics rider one day.

Well done, in his specialty, sprinting after a hard race ;-) that's his terrain.
Not grand tours, just remember that |

He showed his ability to just power away from the peloton today. |

To me it looks like Greipel took the 3rd place but according to Eurosport, Ivanov is 3rd.

I'm pretty sure it was 1. Hagen 2. Engoulvent 3. Greipel. |

It is amazing, to grab a win like that in your first year as a professional. Surely he's a special talent. I don't know much about Hagen and about this GC talk, but isn't it possible for him somehow. I don't know much about Sean Kelly's early career either but he started out a sprinter and ended up winning La Vuelta. I might be way off here.
Oh and what's the deal with reeling in the break? There were two danes in it, gives us a goddamn chance

Well done Hagen
now the time trial and thus the final overall.
I predict a close fight between Posthuma and Gutierrez.

2 remarks:
1) why did greipel pull up front at ~4k when he still had hagen and another one (right after hagen when he pulled close to greipel) of his team ??
2) the white symbol for the leaders jersey looked like a diaper....

Shame he got unlucky yesterday and was at the back of the peloton when the riders started attacking, but of course, it is his own fault for not being at the front. |

it's normal at his age. too bad. he had a chance at the overall win.

At least we know what he is capable of now, as if we didn't know that before. |

Using last year's time trial as reference I'll go with Rosseler.
