My main point actually is that Costa is not at his best when going for GC. Realistically if he fully focusses on the Tour, he can finish 6th or 7th in GC there. (I'm not even sure he can do that cause I never saw great revocery on him and his best mtf result going straight up against top GC riders was 12th.)
But if he focusses on stage wins he could get 2 stage wins. (He took them easily this year). So it's basically choosing between being Costa or Fuglsang in this years Tour. I'd take Costa's tour every time.
Considering he was 9th before falling behind to help punctured Valverde, he might be around the bottom Top 10. Considering Grand Bornand stage, he could be near a Top 5 spot. |

Your not the only one. I prefer stage wins in GT's + Leadership in Ardennes and in One week stage races.
Nono na LBL..... Pode ser que sim. Se o Cunego o ajudar ainda melhor. |

He's Portuguese as well. But I'll translate: I said that it would be possible for Costa to lead in the Ardennes, considering his ninth place in LBL. But if Cunego helps him that would be even better. |

He claimed to be dead tired by the first TT, though. I strongly doubt he would've kept a top 10 position throughout the entire race. He's a top 15 rider, at best.
Still, miles better than Cunego's capable of these days

Yes, but this is simply an English forum.
Enough Dutchies here, but do I talk Dutch?
And yes, Rui is good in the Ardennes

Perhaps he was tired back then but he kept pushing and won 2 tough stages on his own. And perhaps he's just a Top 15 rider but who knows? We never seen him lead a team in a GT before. Maybe next year we'll get that chance. |

I never claimed that Costa had to go for GC in the Tour. I only said that Scarponi (if he stays) can get leadership in Giro and Costa can do the Tour, whether it's GC or stagewins or whatelse. And I'm pretty sure that there are enough one week races to share between Costa, Scarponi and Ulissi.
And in 2014 Cunego will be completly done as a GC-rider imo. He should focus on stage wins + he can be a good domestique for Rui in the Ardennes. |

Yes, I think it can be handled correctly. But we'll see. And Ulissi is in better form than Scarponi for what i've seen today at Baiona. |

Austrian champ Riccardo Zoidl signs for Trek. Nice to see them signing up some youngsters instead of all these pensioners. |

I'm afraid Zoidl isn't really a youngster anymore
He's 25/26 I believe
But great signing, still, Zoidl really has an amazing season.

Well compared to old man Klöden or Grandpa Horner he is only a young pup...
But I have to agree. Its nice that Trek finally signed some respectable riders instead of banking on Bruyneels old hospital visiting group. The problem is that Horner and Devolder are still on the team and will continue to stay there, while riders like gerdemann werent offered new contracts last year.

He must be a very nice climber, and not a bad TT rider also... And yes, he's 25 |

Adding that to Sinkeldam, Arndt, Van Rensburg, Barguil and Dumoulin, Argos have one hell of a team for the future. |

Agreed And Craddock should develop into a very good GC contender. |

Yes
Miguel, yes indeed. Although they will find it very hard to keep them all in the same team as well
Not to forget that Kittel and Degenkolb are very young still

And Van Baarle joins Garmin. They should have a very good team for the future as well. They also got Lasse Normann Hansen, 2nd in the Tour de l'Avenir prologue. Adding those two to Dennis, Rathe, Raymond Kreder an obviously to Slagter, they sould make a very nice team for the next 5 years or so. |
