I forgot to mention that steve Cozza was supposed to be there but he crashed three times last time he was in Europe and hasn't been cleared to race anything other than time trials. |

Volta a Portugal stage 3 (4th if you count the prologue):
transition stage with the final uphill sprint won by Cândido Barbosa in national champion colours. Danail Petrov second, David Blanco third.
new overall leader is still MartÃn Garrido. the stage was run very slowly, so he held on
all the favorites finished up top in anticipation of the first REAL (although smallish) uphill finish which is tomorrow, and the first real mountain stage which is friday.
my TV went ka-boom, but luckily they're transmitting the Volta live on the official site
long live the internet!!
Can we get a Link to it |

sorry, I don't know the link
a friend just gave it to me through MSN.
it's probably from either the Volta website or the RTP website, but I can't find it on either right now, sorry. |

Vuelta a Colombia: breakaway let go, Botero still leads. stage winner was Alexander Giraldo. the break finished with a huge lead.
Volta a Portugal: final climb not too big, but there was still a selection. yellow jersey Garrido took a beating before letting go (he's a sprinter/time triallist).
stage won by Cândido Barbosa....again. he takes yellow too.. all the favorites finished (roughly) together. first real mountain stage is friday. |

Tomorrow is rest day, isn't. Azevedo looks good, and Candido can definately win this year. I bet on Azevedo to a podium, to the win, if possible, if not a 2nd place, because I admire Candido as well.

I higly doubt Barbosa can win, but riders from portuguese teams vary so wildly in performance from year to year that it's quite impossible to predict. we'll have a much better picture on the next mountain stage. |

For now the gaps are too shorts. We only will know that on Torre. Let's see.... Like the television say..."Candido is the eternal favorite".

Well, I guess he came in 2nd, so - if he did that - it's Daniel Oss
