Yes, Norway only have 3 riders who can do the full 250 km.
I don't really understand the discussion...
If those 3 from Norway has done better than 50 riders from Holland, so be it. They should get 9 places...
It's not like the teams outside Europe can find 9, 6 or even 3 riders capable of finishing the race either.. The thing is, they didn't (look at CQ ranking)
The ranking system is simply wrong. Besides, only the best 5 riders count on the world ranking, as opposed to the best 10 on the old UCI ranking (CQ ranking). And it's only from 1 to 15 august, thus not counting the Vuelta, ENECO Tour, Lombardia, Vattenfall... so the ranking is not even representative.
It's simply wrong. |

Vandborg should be left out of the squad to punish him for his suckiness in the past many WCs. |

Well... I wonder:
Lance's kids, were they made in petri dishes or, uhm, the natural way? |

Since Lars Bonde has a Vandbord fetish he'll definatly get in the TT and if we get 6 places, most likely in the RR aswell.
@Hagen: Petri dishes

I've heard that men who train or race bikes in a competitive manner have 90% less sperm than those that don't (a combination of bike seats and high levels of some chemicals).
So petri dishes, although seeing who Lance has dated, he obviously can't keep it in his pants, and might have had enough chances to actually make one naturally |

Max Armstrong (the newest kid) was conceived naturally (or so Armstrong claims). Which really is pretty remarkable considering the guy only has one nut, is post-cancer, and sits in the saddle all day long. |

No simply every race after 15 august from last year.
No miracle Netherlands doesn't score more points when you discount the ENECO Tour, the Vuelta (7th place Gesink) and Lombardia (5th place Kroon).
Wow, good job UCI. :L A ranking for a world cup should always be based on an entire year. And if you want to have a deadline, set it, but then also make the year from there on, and not from 1 januari to 15 august. |

I agree. If it has to be 15th August, then for WC reasons shouldn't there be a ranking that starts from the 16th August for the next year.
UCI is dumb. But we all already knew that

Uhm ... what?
Edit: While I do see a point of having 'major' races outside Europe, I'm not a fan of this whole 'make a race and let it be Pro Tour from the beginning'-thing. Let them advance over years and prove worthy of being Pro Tour.

Arsenault is working toward the possibility of expanding the ProTour weekend to include a third event held in Boston and a future stage race is also a possibility. "I didn't want to jump into it with something bigger, I wanted to secure our date and maintain a long term relationship with the UCI," he said. "If you want to have the 20 best teams, you have to think of a calendar that suites everyone. We already have the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia that are 21 days long. September is the end of the season, just before the world championships."
Does this guy not realise of that other 21 stage race of the season that takes place in September?
Its an odd move by the UCI to introduce ProTour races in Canada, and it almost seems like the race organiser is already greedily wanting more.
I cant see there being particularly strong fields there - clashing with the Vuelta and also the Tour of Missouri which I would say is more important to the American PT teams than some races in Canada.

What I find interesting is that the four wild-card spots will not be all given out to pro teams. Two of the wild-cards will be American and Canadian national teams. Then one wildcard for a Canadian continental team (absolutely stupid, what are they going to do, bring Louis Garneau or something?) and the other will be for an American domestic team (I'd put my money on Kelly Benefit, because like a third of the team is Canadian, but who knows).
Basically you'll have four wildcard teams which will essentially be the control teams from the man-game, and then third-tier squads from all the PT teams for the race.
I'd pick JJ Haedo to win...
EDIT: well, on the plus side, if I ever want to go to a PT race, Quebec is closer than California...
