Don't think he will even try after the 2nd sprint, if he does then that's a waste of energy.

Can't follow your logic...the ride of Cavendish officially (not my opinion) was against the rules, so Cavendish has to be blamed and not the one who's making the complaint. But enough for that...
[sarcasm]OMG! Cavendish moved 2 feet to the right which is the side Hushovd was on!!!!!!! He must be DQ'd despite the fact that he got nowhere near touching Hushovd, that riders touch in sprints all the time, and that Hushovd had nowhere near enough power to come through!!! That was completely illegal, and Cav deserves to be DQ'd[/sarcasm]
From what I saw I have the same opinion like you (as I wrote), but our opinions aren't relevant...too bad though |

Such a shame, it was really great seeing him fighting for it everyday, lets hope he'll be back in the Tour next year.

Let's hope for a spectacular finish and fingers crossed for Menchov, that he can finish this stage !
I love people who try to get the final word on something by posting their view and then say "enough of that" or "discussion over". Something about that annoys me. If you want the discussion to end... stop discussing it... don't go for the last word.
Cervelo filed a complaint, which was investigated and led to the DQ.
Nobody on the planet thinks Thor would have finished ahead of Cav. Cav was looking around, trying to win as slowly as possible. Thor WHINED to get the DQ... it wouldn't have happened otherwise. Was it legitimate? I think it's fair to say it was questionable. But to call attention to that in a sprint for THIRTEENTH place isn't being competitive... it's gamesmanship. It's using rules and penalties to defeat someone you can't beat on the road.
Regardless of what's happened... the end result for me is I'm not a Thor fan anymore, and he's been the sprinter I've favored in Tours for the last 5 years... mainly because he had a cool name and I liked the CA jerseys.
Now... I hope he suffers a mishap to even out for him protesting the ride of someone who clearly was going to finish ahead of him regardless in a sprint for 13th. |
