Stage 5
Today’s stage was full of climbs and the decision was made for me to get in the break and try to get a stage win since I was no longer in contention overall. The attacks began right away and I followed but couldn’t help take a quick look at the lake.
I was in a group of 9 riders including another Irish man Philip Deignan. We maintained a constant gap of about 3 minutes.
Soler was the first of the favorites to attack and surprisingly none of the other favorites followed. He eventually caught up to our group, and despite his efforts, couldn’t drop us. After a while riders began to drop and because I wasn’t on good form, I was one of the first to go. Eventually Soler was alone in the lead.
Soler held a gap of over 2 minutes on the guys chasing and he would go on to win the stage and take the leader’s jersey.
I managed to finish in the peloton and moved up a few of places in the standing. Hesjedal maintained 2nd place but is 2 minutes behind Soler.

Stage 6
The first half of the stage is pretty hilly but the rest is all downhill and flat. A group of 4 got away in the beginning including British fan favorite, Ben Swift. They got a gap of, at most 8 minutes.
Throughout the first half of the stage none of the favorites attacked but on the flat part after the descent the favorites began to attack. Hesjedal attacked along with Soler and many other favorites.
Unfortunately Hesjedal was caught by the peloton and the chase was on for the other favorites who had gotten away. Johann Tschopp took the win but the real battle was behind him.
Did Ten Dam get enough time to take 2nd place from Hesjedal?

The answer is no. Hesjedal holds on to 2nd and I finish too far back to even bother mentioning. Not a great race for me but a great race for the team.

After almost a month off I am even more prepared for the Tour de France. The Dauphine Libere is my final test before the Tour de France. If I do well then I will be given an opportunity to race in the Tour de France.

It's a bit unrealistic. Riders such as leipheimer should have his states much lower than on the beginning of the season. But keep going it's still a good story |

trust me I wont. Not even if I moved it down to easy. You'll see by the Dauphine Libere that I still can't contend with the best. Well not this year.
