"I want to be strong in the Giro but not at my peak. I want to be at 90%. The goal is to do a good Giro, finishing in the top 10 or top 5 or top 3, if everything goes well." - Armstrong
That, plus he takes a few swipes at Contador.
He's going for the Tour, that's OBVIOUS by now. Cancer my ass.

"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong

Hahaa..Armstrong...always for tour. I had same feeling when he introduced he's season plans..and was not giving to Contador 100% for TdF..always silenced on that matter.
Strange is that in cycling ..is like impossible to cover some news. Most this rumors and feelings we have..will be come as thruth sooner or later. |

Link?
The two first were self-written of course, a bit surprised about Shimano myself though. Are ASO angry at Barloworld or have I missed something?, they seam like a much more logical choise. |

You should call them Skil by the way, not Shimano. Skil is the main, most paying sponsors.
And they won't field asians too, they have dropped almost their entire batallion of asians in their asiatic team since last year. They don't ride European races.
It will be a combination of Dutch and French riders. Think of Veelers, Hivert and Hupond as their most important riders |

As their important riders. Easy to cut things out and make it look funny...
And btw, I don't think Veelers is much worse than Feillu or Sebastien Chavanel.. and they get to ride the TDF every year as well.
Ofcourse it would be more logic to invite Barloworld or other strong teams, at least 15 teams are stronger than Skil. But the Tour choose Skil, and they aren't much worse than Française des Jeux
Skil always has some promising riders:
2005 (Shimano): Schumacher and Laurens Ten Dam
2006: Sebastian Langeveld, Paul Martens, Maarten Tjallingii
2007: Lhotellerie, Martens, Tjallingii
2008: Veelers, Lhotellerie, Hupond
2009: Veelers, Hivert, Hupond
I've seen teams with worse talent. Certainly in this years tour.

When Veelers wears the yellow jersey in this years tour, thats when I'll put him on the same level as Feillu. But good luck convincing me of that before hand.

Taking the yellow jersey in way Feillu did is overrated. AS if it's a huge performance.
Man, riders of below average level have taken the yellow jersey, by being in the right break... And no, I'm not going to put them above better riders who have never taken yellow because of that |

About Skil, there were news report early this year / late last year, saying that they had had meetings with ASO, and that it was looking good for them. So not really a surprise. |
