Same story..for Liquigas and Franzoi and Quinziato. There is no..pure leader. Race will tell. Yesterday Quinziato had better day..thanks to hills. Today we should take it realy easy..and carefuly. Beacause most of cobble aces is named in the startlist...weather is same as yesterday. Raining and strong wind.
Manuel Quinziato
Enrico Franzoï
Aleksandr Kuschynski
Murilo Fischer
Kjell Carlström
Frederik Willems
Brian Vandborg
Fabio Sabatini

Today we open officialy cobble season..
Early breakaway group De Waele, Muravjev, yesterday winner Spilak and Guesdon.
This crash make differences to Hoste plans. Two good helpers Van Avermaet and van Summeren has crashed. They are ok to go on...and getting slowly back to the main group.
Split after climb..46km to go. Flecha, Devolder and Langeveld got away. They dont wait anymore and used this small advantage..race has started.
Saxo and Silence-Lotto started a chase..there is still 3 Liquigas riders in that group..Quinziato, Franzoi (who looke better today) and Fischer. They dont have nothing more to do..just wait and hang on ..long has possible.
Strong trio starting to pass..early breakaway riders De Waele and Spilak is there..riders from behind come and go..they cant follow.
Now they cach Muravyev and Guesdon. Devolder using cobble section and that moment to ride away..Flecha missed that one..he started to chase.
Same time in second group..Fischer just cant follow anymore that speed..Franzoi and Quinziato still there.
Then classic Cancellara..he started to make tempo..and only 3 riders can follow..O'Grady, Hoste and early crashed van Avermaet. Liquigas duo decided not to go after that..that would be suicide.
Cancellara group has cached Langeveld...they have eye contact. Flecha is right there.
Next hill..van Avermaet is cracked. All lead riders on the same hill at the moment..this is not over.
Cancellara atack after Flecha..only Hoste can follow.
Devolder takes nice win...
Cancellara passing Flecha and takes second..Hoste 3rd. They started that chase to late..maybe ..but also now they have nothing left. Both riders cant even spint.
Just before last turn Franzoi..will but everything out. He likes to take highest place has possible...10...clockwork. Well done.

I was thinking long..Who will be leader Szmydt or Zaugg? But both under protection..two captain race again.
Hugh breakaway group. Liquigas missed that chanse to but he's rider also out there. But now worries ..Liquigas with Lampre working fine together..they are back together.
49km. to go and Claude and Peeters atack..
Demaret coming at behind..3 now at the front..
Turpin..
Then Turpin decided..this isnt enough ..only Claude can follow him. Lampre has taken totaly over peloton control..again breakaway is unsuccesful.
Final climb..Pate atack.
Then Carrara..Pauriol and Zaugg...
...this is the moment..Knees has joined front group.
...Szmydt trying to get into group..hard one. Looks like he is first one who just dont make it.
Short downhill..after that will be sprint..
Knees takes a win..Zaugg managed to beat Pate at the line..3rd. ..good.
Season been so far hugh success..

This is one of my favorite..Every time I am surprised that team wont send there..their top riders. I have been dominating there every year ...and no exeptions this year my best cobble (gravel) riders Franzoi , Fischer and Quinziato will be there...and Liquigas is strongest team.

Good is that we have nice waether..
First gravel section..race has started. This one is warm up for Liquigas. Plan is to move up fornt..when second section starts then push hard. Lets see how many can follow.
Clear sky..dry weather. Still crashes..first one Masciarelli.
And here we go..Willems has moved up to front. Group is getting longer and longer any minut..and he have sveral split's.
Liquigas was keeping on pushing at the front..when we have only small group left at he front..mostly Liquigas, Boygues, LPR , Milram riders (both favorites Franzoi and Quinziato have +5 today).
Then another hill..and even this group can keep up together. This is Willems last push..he is exausted (great job so far)..still 57km. to go.
Next cobble ..only Franzoi, Quinziato ,Fischer, Bernucci and Voecler. Franzoi moves to front..
42 km. to go..and Franzoi go's for solo...Fischer and Quinziato for now let Voecler and Bernucci to do all the work.
Franzoi has gone..for good. Now last gravel and Quinziato atack..now one can response for that.
Franzoi ..takes a win.
Quinziato second..
and here comes Bernucci, Voecler and Fischer.
Voecler opens the sprint..
Bernucci is out of the game...Fischer challenges Voecler..realy all podium will be for Liquigas riders?
..no..Voecler takes 3rd. Still total domination...and I realy dont understand why strong riders avoided that fun one day race.
Only 53. riders get time inside time limit...there they all are.

Fantastic 1-2 at Eroica! Good luck for P-N, but I think it'll be hard to beat Schleck, Dekker, Sastre and Vandevelde with Roman K. |

Lets hope that..imageschack getting over problems..for now I uploaded images over several places..but finaly we can start. There was small problem in stage 3 but lets talk about that when time comes.
Stage 1

Prologue..Nibali and Kreuziger will share leader role. Chicchi will hunt possible sprint mass sprint situations.
Lets start with Wiggins..19. (+19sec)
Tuft..14. (+18sec.)
Danielson open season..lets hope that this year it will be nice one after injured 2008..today 18. (19sec.)

Bert Grabsch 5. (+13 sec.)
Nibali..12. (+16 sec.) Kreuziger was better today..but first mountain will tell.

Millar 11. (+16)..I belive that Garmin expected more today...Wiggins, Danielson and Millar not bad..but
Karpets 10. (+16 sec.)
On of favorites Sanchez 40. (+26)
Ignatiev 9. (+15 sec.)
Kirchen..36. (+26 sec.)
Gasparotto..39. (+26sec. )
Andy Schleck 48. (+28 sec.)

For now Photobucket problem solved..Bucket didnt like .bmp images anymore..should save as gif..and everything back to normal
Stage 2
Amilly - Nevers
Terrible weather..first day is for sprinters..
Nice to wach..Kreuziger wearing white jersey today. Much harder to take that shot in TdF wich will be Kreuziger's main event this year.
Ready for sprint..our cobble ace Franzoi trying to pull Chicchi in perfect sprint position. But no..Chicchi hasnt power left to follow lead out man...this is different league compared to Qatar wich was Chicchi last race.
Franzoi will try he's best..same time spirnt. Highroad at the left side..Eisel is Cavedish lead out man...there is also Ciolek, Haussler and tour leader Cancellara.
But here go's Breschel..
and this was sign to Cavedish to open he's sprint..
Cavedish takes stage win..Franzoi 5th..over any expetation.

Stage 3
This was perfect day for me.I can not take any screenshot at this perfect day for me. After Nibali won the stage..I thought to celebrate this and visited refrigerator.
When I came back after minut..and was ready to play replay and take screenshots..game announced that exe has crashed. Ok sad..but main question was would I be able to play next stage..yes everything was working ok..after I restarted the game.
So about this stage shortly:
10 riders group get away in final climb: Kreuziger, Dekker, Barredo, Casar, Moncoutie, Nibali, Nuyens, Moreau, Pozzato and Schleck.
Then downhill..finish is near 3,5 km. to go. Liquigas team decided..has we have two riders in the group and Pipo is clearly best spinter in the group..lets do something. Nibali atack from behind..and you all see results for that. He is tour leader.
Next time..proper report..
