Yes,were both very content with the prospect
Seriously though,if he came,as with any race around the world, the response from the people of would be huge.
Like with many countries, the general public in Ireland don't really...appreciate...cycling much.Tour de France,Kelly,Roche and Armstrong are about the only words related to cycling a person in the street could give you.Cycling in Ireland lost it's will to live in the 90's,and it never came back. It's improved over the last couple of years though

Armstrong: "Contador is the best"
This constant politically correct bullshit back and forth between those two reminds me of a sketch by a popular comedy group over here that basically consisted of 2 public figures going
- I admire you so much, I'm in fact going to fellate you
- Oh no, let me fellate you first, as I admire you so much more
- No, me first
- No, me
(etc.)
They can both say whatever the hell they want, but it still won't change the fact they're two people who can't be trusted with a cent.

More importantly, they're both leaders. Both have the philosophy that a team rides for one captain and one captain only (Contador, because he's Spanish, Armstrong, because he's Armstrong). With Armstrong saying that he's going to Tour de France (with Contador), I think we're up for some heated discussions |

ahah Armstrong-Contador rivalry compared to Gato Fedorento sketches
that's just hilarious
about that I'would love to be Armstrong and Contador alone in the Pyrenees racing each other!!

In such a case, if they're still unsure at the start, common sense would be to protect both riders until the first mountain finish or mountain stage and see if one is really stronger than the other one (considering the TT too) then the weakest would ride for the natural leader. |
