What a beautiful bunch of regional talents! That Fighter Hayter looks juicy.

Gonna second what C14 is saying here, I feel like there is a version of TT/SR/Fighter split that makes Hayter more standout than the boring stage racer route although the pure SR route does look really good too.

@Croatia: Have been concentrating on regional talents only for the past couple of seasons, except for someone exceptional, like Hayter this time. Happy to have a nice group of them now. Fighter Hayter might look juicy, but will it have enough meat underneath?
@WJ: It's simple really - which version of Hayter will give me the most points from when he is maxed at 25 (and maybe even before that)? Think the answer is quite obvious given how the likes of Kamna and Dunbar have done in the last couple of seasons. Although, none of the mentioned paths is the one I actually have planned for him

The MGUCI have recently announced the wildcards for PCT teams and we are delighted to have got our top priority. We will be going back to a (PT) Grand Tour for the first time since 2018, when we received a wildcard to the Giro d'Italia. We are hoping to be able to showcase ourselves in the best possible way when this premier event rolls up in May.

We went into transfers with a Climber and a Puncher as your leaders and with no intention of selling them. As such, we kept it simple and picked two race goals for each of them. Overall, we believe that we have picked gettable goals this time, and hope to achieve more than the two successes we got last time.
Benoot won here last season, and we are hoping he can repeat the feat.
Criterium du Dauphine Libere We did not race here last season but Choi managed a 5th place finish in the Tour de Suisse, which is quite similar in its structure. We are once again hoping for a similar outcome.
We had a Top 10 goal in this race last season as well, where Choi did one better and finished 5th. We have kept the same goal with the hope of achieving it again.
Our second goal for Benoot and we chose to have this race over Pologne because of the absence of any TTs. We hope a Top 10 is a fairly gettable goal for our hills leader.
Our main target as a team this season is to improve on last season's placings. We already achieved a Top 10 lat time, so the logical progression for a standings goal was the Top 5.

Nice set of goals. Should be quite realistic to achieve them!

Balkans is interesting and a race, that De Bie has some history in failing twice despite other puncheurs doing a lot better job there.
I hope Benoot can somehow do well there but I fear, it might be more for the better hybrids. |

Really not a fan of sharing two goal races and the other two we are in attendance as well. Think you have really great odds at a 4/5 season there, a repeat in Emilia will (hopefully ) be tough but obviously far from impossible given he did it last year with worse stats
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

@Adler: That is what we were aiming for when setting the goals
@roturn: I rechecked the DB, and there about half a dozen puncher hybrids who, statistically at least, should be better suited to Balkans than Benoot. So even if they all show up, I'm hoping Benoot can at least perform to his level and get the goal. Having said that, PCM probably now makes him 50th or something!
@jandal: Win goals are always tough, but having won there last season, that was the most obvious choice I thought as a win goal. Mostly hoping we can achieve the three Top 10 goals. The other two would be great to have indeed.

Seem like some doable goals to me, although obviously Emmilia won't be just an easy repeat story. Most of all I really hope the top-5 in PCT becomes a reality, and unless you're unlucky I can definitely see that happening. Looking forward to see who you bring to the Vuelta and how you'll perform there

Having a PCT-proven rider like Choi definitely makes goals selection easier. Dauphiné and Colombia should suit him well, as you say. Not so sure about Balkans - personally, I'm still trying to "decode" the race, finding out what rider types could do well (apart from the Areruyas and Lopez' of this world) - will be interesting to see if Benoot's Mo is good enough.
Emilia could indeed see a repeat win by Benoot. Last year, I was surprised to see him win there because of his low Acc compared to most competitors, but somehow it was enough. Why not do it again now that he's even stronger?
And the Top 5 Team standings goal indeed is an obvious target, and you should at least be in the promotion fight. Would be great to see you go up!

@Nemo: I hope your assessment of the Top 10 goals are right! The other two are idealistic goals that will we be ecstatic to get accomplished. Vuelta should have a decent line up I guess but nothing extraordinary. Had to go to a GT this time for the xp.
@Fab: Yes it was definitely easier to set goals for Choi then for Benoot. Hoping the Balkans stages are not hard enough for them to start favouring very high mountain riders. Hoping Benoot can stay in the sub prime Beltran type category and still be competitive there. Hope we can indeed stay I'm the promotion fight this season!

Malyasian jersey is very sharp, great for the team focus to have some Asian NCs.
I am in the worried for Benoot in the Balkans camp. Think the course tends to treat the hybrids better. But all the others seem very solid.
Looks like Choi will not be trying to go one better in the ToA this year. Speaking for the organizers I am sure they will be sad to lose last year's 2nd place with the other two podium finishers also unlikely (although I guess Pluchkin could be back).

Three of your goals seem to me as thought they'll be quite likely achievements, perhaps overly conservative. A win goal is always a bit of a gamble and I haven't had a chance to look at who the favourites are for the team standings. Still, with Benoot and Choi at the helm it is bound to be an entertaining season. The NCs look sharp as well.

@Ulrich: Yeah like the Malaysian jersey a lot myself. Ezee with another classic design! Hopefully Benoot can wash everyone's worries away, including mine Hoping Choi going to more races means more points than last year. 21 stages of ToA does seem to hamstring the points scoring, and didn't feel it was worth it with just one climber/stage racer in the team now.
@lief: The idea for the three Top 10 goals was to be able to achieve them easily (but people seem to think otherwise about Balkans, we'll see). Not too sure where we stand in the PCT yet either, but hoping we can finally be in contention for direct promotion. Hope you are right about our two leaders as well! Agree on the NCs too

I can see this year quite a few team choose Giro dell'Emilia for their goal.
This will be probably the hardest hill race with the best hilly teams in PCT. I'm quite scared now that I didn't do a mistake here. Hahaha
Defenetly Benoot s big a candidate with a few others cyclist from other teams for first place.

@TinxiaS: Well Benoot won there last year already and he's been trained again, so that was an obvious option as a Win goal. I do agree that the startlist for that race will be very strong!
