Interesting, I like the strict Euro focus all the best with your planning for the coming season!

Congrats on getting your first year done It may not have been the best points-wise (neither was my first season, by the way), but you sticked to the game, you were a regular contributor - and you definitely made a big impact with all the jerseys you have already designed (and probably will do)! Thanks so much for doing all of this, this game needs active managers to stay alive
All the best for the offseason and your second year in CT - I'm sure you'll learn from your (planning and other) mistakes and you'll end up higher next time

Hey we're not all super promoters in our first year - sounds like it's been a great learning experience and you're ready for a leap in your second season, looking forward to it Clean new jersey too!

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

@Eden95 : Luckily it's still pretty easy with such a strict focus, I heard there are a lot of strong riders in europe Just imagine having to focus on something like carribean tiny island or stuff like that
@TheManxMissile : Lets hope for both of us the next season will be a huge step forward I would gladly battle with your team for promotion.
@Fabianski : Thank you. Points would have been nice but i did learn a lot and that may be more worth long term so I try my best for next season. And I hope I can let most of the jersey I made (and will make) behind my own one
@jandal7 : Yes Season 1 was a great learning experience and if i can get a lot out of it for next season it was worth every day and every not perfect result

This will be the our final 2 posts at our current HQ and for the Staffbase - BHP Team!
Berlin ProRace | Top 10 | 27th | X | Tour of California | Top 10 | 15th | X | GP Herning | Top 5 | 31th | X | Betonexpressz GP | Win | 5th | X | Team Standings | Top 10 | 16th | X |
Well, you can see yourself we werent overly succesful on that. But then again this was a failure by the management. We didnt know shit and our Goals and general planning in every aspect werent fitting. We are sure we will be better at this next season and hope we dont have to suffer a lot in preparation for next season because of the poor managment this year.

Let's see how our own rider developed over this first season of our Team!
Dylan Sunderland | Age: 27 | Pot: 3 | Lvl: 4
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 65 | 72 | 70 | 57 | 64 | 66 | 69 | 60 | 67 | 72 | 67 | 69 | 60 | 65 | 74 | 72 | 57 | 65 | 67 | 71 | 60 | 67 | 74 | 69 | 70 | 60 |
Our "veteran" we could ensure that he will be even more useful in the mountains and he still has some growth left!
Sebastian Berwick | Age: 24 | Pot: 5 | Lvl: 3
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 64 | 67 | 67 | 61 | 65 | 68 | 65 | 60 | 61 | 67 | 66 | 66 | 62 | 64 | 71 | 70 | 61 | 66 | 70 | 68 | 60 | 61 | 70 | 69 | 66 | 62 |
Sebastian was able to learn from the more expereinced climbers like Dylan and could gain some skills in this regards. In the future he will be also able to score and help the captain at the steeper roads.
Jensen Plowright | Age: 23 | Pot: 5 | Lvl: 3
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 67 | 58 | 59 | 58 | 63 | 70 | 61 | 61 | 69 | 69 | 58 | 62 | 58 | 70 | 58 | 59 | 58 | 66 | 71 | 63 | 63 | 73 | 72 | 58 | 62 | 58 |
Jensen didnt leave much impact from results this year but you can already see that he will able to change this in the future at sprint finishes!
Tim Van Dijke | Age: 23 | Pot: 5 | Lvl: 3
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 70 | 61 | 69 | 66 | 68 | 70 | 67 | 66 | 68 | 68 | 65 | 72 | 68 | 73 | 61 | 69 | 70 | 70 | 73 | 70 | 66 | 70 | 69 | 65 | 72 | 72 |
Tim was one of our few highlights this year. He is a very versatile rider and with the direction he took this year he will be also in the future. His focus has been getting better in TT's so hopefully he will score even more in the following years in suitable races.
Florian Lipowitz | Age: 23 | Pot: 4 | Lvl: 3
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 62 | 68 | 68 | 59 | 63 | 70 | 69 | 58 | 59 | 67 | 70 | 63 | 58 | 62 | 71 | 71 | 59 | 63 | 72 | 71 | 58 | 59 | 70 | 73 | 63 | 58 |
Here we have another rider who just love going upwards and with his current and future development we hope he also will go upwards in the rankings!
Juri Hollmann | Age: 24 | Pot: 4 | Lvl: 3
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 68 | 62 | 65 | 69 | 66 | 68 | 62 | 68 | 61 | 63 | 61 | 65 | 67 | 70 | 62 | 65 | 71 | 69 | 70 | 63 | 71 | 61 | 63 | 61 | 65 | 69 |
Juri might not be the most flashy rider and may look underhwleming at first sight but we believe he will have his highlights in the future too.
Felix Engelhardt | Age: 23 | Pot: 5 | Lvl: 3
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 62 | 65 | 69 | 57 | 65 | 65 | 65 | 59 | 60 | 64 | 65 | 65 | 58 | 63 | 66 | 72 | 57 | 68 | 67 | 67 | 59 | 61 | 67 | 67 | 65 | 58 |
Felix wasnt seen much in this year but he could gain skill too and you can see in the future he might be able to surprise some people with his punchy riding.
----------------------------------------------
Overall we are glad we could help them all to develop as much as possible and we clearly will see some of them again next year! But as you can already guess, with the change of our partners and our direction, there has to be sacrifices to be made and some won't be able to get a contract for the next season. But I am sure that we will meet them again since they have potential and will be great riders in the future!
That's it with our news in the Staffbase - BHP Headquarter. I wish you a great off-season and championships! We will see you all again soon in the new central of the Team Würth MODYF! And we will probably also get in touch during the transfers.

Happy to see that Hollmann is getting the development time that we couldn't provide for him. That's a very nice set of talents you've got coming through and hopefully some of them are ready to start carrying out domestique duties next season. Interesting decision to opt out of taking van Dijke the hill-sprinter route.

The goals indeed don't look great - but you can only do better next year And at least Betonexpressz and California weren't complete failures.
Van Dijke is obviously your most interesting talent, and I'm looking forward to find out which route you'll select for him. Hilly sprinter was the obvious path, as lief said, but hilly TTer or so might be a cool niche for him.

First year goals are super difficult to pick because you usually have no idea how the transfer market moves, what team you end up with and what sort of budget you can play with. Failing this badly obviously is not good for next year's budget but the knowledge and experience you gained this season should help you improving for next season.
I was curious which way you would go with Van Dijke. Plenty of interesting choices were possible and i dont think any of them is straightup better than the other ones. That hilly-cobbly-sprinter route the others mentioned is the obvious one and a strong one but his ACC might limit his output in that role unless he ultimately is used as leadout for a Van Lijke / Demare type of guy in the future. I kinda like the Track-TT route you seem to have picked for him. Lots of value in a strong prologue + rouleur + break guy for easier races outside of his strength in time trials.
Dont think i've commented on your sponsor change before but i really like Würth as a sponsor choice. It's one of those companies i always connect with sport sponsoring so quite a fitting one to pick and their logos makes for a great jersey as you've already proven!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
