If anyone was UNDER rated, then it was Boogerd. It always showed in the databases too. He was probably the strongest (that's different from best) hilly rider of the past 10 years, that's why every other hilly rider, who did have a sprint, chose his wheel. That way it was easy, the one who can follow Boogerd, will win the race.
Proven so for years. Bettini, Rebellin, Di Luca, Cunego, and some other profiteurs. And from those guys, he was the best climber as well (Tour de France wise), if Di Luca or Cunego can win the Giro, Boogerd could have won it too. Most underrated rider of the past decade.
Boogerd was a strong rider, but he never won anything after he won AGR that first year. Thats the reason I consider him overrated, on paper he was as strong as anyone |

He never won anything because the others just sucked he's wheel and out sprinted him, because he can't sprint, didn't you read what Ruben said?

So, from the results point of view, given his strength, he was overrated, but from the strength point of view if you only look at his results he was underrated.
Question without any precision is now : was Boogerd overrated ?
Fight. |

Ruben you are overreacting. he wasn't the best climber. he was a good teammate and climber , but he never would be able to lead a team in a GT.
Dekker on the other hand might win a GT someday ( i believe)
in hte hilly classics he was one of the best/strongest not the.
i think he was amongst the top 5

He was a strong climber, of the non-epo takers probably the strongest on giro level, i'm sure he was better than di luca so he could have won the giro |

Ok, let's put it this way: HE NEVER RODE A SINGLE RACE.
So, saying he's the 16th best in the world is overrating him. Happy now? |

Why, that hurts me Isso. I rode at the student national championships a few times, so saying I never rode a single race is a lie |
