that will be built after the games, the actuall circuit will end in Regent's Park (near London zoo)
Edit: That will be built near the velodrome after the games. Whilst the games are on, this circuit won't exist.

Oh yes , Germany shows how dumb some people can be
Now :
The german TDF TV Stations ARD and ZDF (stations of the state) would like to exclude Lance Armstrong when he is partipiciating
They are in some proceedings at Brussel (Bruxelles? The B Town in B country) with European Broadcasting , how ARD and ZDF show the TDF in the future because ARD and ZDF haven´t undersigned the new EBU contract
I am translating what someone of ARD/ZDF said to that , Rolf Ganz
"For us , Lance Armstrong is a part of History we wouldn´t like to see. If we are signing the contract , for sure we are looking to sit with Christian Preudhomme together and represent that "We are not amused" (he said that words in the "" what Armstrongs plans concerns. The future is for the young riders and they aren´t fitting into with the comeback of old riders of the Generation Armstrong we hoped that that never will happen. Our word has weight. For the french people the german market is more important than other markets."
When I hear that words I am looking to write a nice long letter to the Bundespresident because that some people can decide whats going on , thats not good when you see what will be in television when TDF is running , some soapoperas that are also running in a younger wise on private TV stations
He is so .... (not intelligent , put in a word that you like)
Has he forgotten the doped young portugese? Has he forgotten Ricco? A rider of the youth he is talking of? |

A. Yes, they are.
B. So are 99.9% of other teams
C. Nothing was proven against them, sadly.

Still to be proven...
And believe me, they won't be able to prove anything. They never intended to... All they wanted was a reason to kick the team out of the Volta a Portugal... Now that they got what they wanted, no one is interested in following through with the investigation and they will drop it. This way they still got what they wanted and the team gets the bad rep.
The fact that Rin brought up the name of the team validates part of my theory.

Oh that's fully true yes, they didn't find anything, it was all so Benfica could have an easier time winning the Volta.
That's the kind of shit we over here have to put up with in football too.
The FC Porto "corruption scandal"? All made up so that Porto wouldn't go to the Champions League so that Benfica can go. That kind of thing happens EVERY SEASON, there is no evidence of anything against Porto because NOTHING HAPPENED, but they started an investigation just so that Porto would get in trouble.
There is LITERALLY no evidence whatsoever.
Benfica here are like Real Madrid in Spain or Juventus in Italy.
See what we have to put up with now, Rin?

Sorry, but no... What we should do is get rid of the doping young people too, not allow the old ones back. |

Translated from www.ojogo.pt by moi
Italian Cyclist Dario Frigo, arrested in July 2005 in Courchevel during the Tour de France, was today sentenced to 6 months in prison, suspended sentence, by the Albertville court.
His wife, Susanna, was also sentenced to the same. The couple must also pay 8757 euros.
The DA had requested a year in prison for the couple and 15.000 euros severance from Susanna Frigo, for carrying doping products, and 21.000 euros severance from the couple.
Frigo, who did not attend the trial nor deny the facts he was accused of, defended himself saying he was “a victim of the system” and denounced “organized doping in the team”
Let’s see, the team included some very fine riders. Not a single one of them was less than above average (except for Corioni), which can't really be said for any other team I remember. The squad that year:
Andrus Aug
Fabio Baldato
Paolo Bossoni
Marzio Bruseghin
Fabian Cancellara
Francesco Chicchi
Massimo Codol
Claudio Corioni
Mauro Facci
Juan Antonio Flecha
Dario Frigo
Massimu Giunti
Wolodymir Gustov
Andrej Hauptmann
Kim Kirchen
Gustav Larsson
Vincenzo Nibali
Alberto Ongarato
Alessandro Petacchi
Roberto Petito
Fabio Sacchi
Julián Sánchez Pimienta
Konstantin Siutsou
Matteo Tosatto
Marco Velo

Not looking at the riders, is it any surprise? Tell me a team without pre-Landis doping?

OK, I know this probably isn't the right thread but:
Anyone else think it's odd that Amgen sponsor the Tour of California? |

American company with their HQ in California seems to make sense.

No they need attention around their products, that some of them are EPO products could be called a little odd, but I wouldn't call it that.

It's funny, but let's not forget that EPO does actually exist for a (good) reason |

Was it mentioned that Scott would no longer sponsor the Scott American beef squad for next year and is moving to Team Columbia for 2009?
