Hopefully a full reinstall will solve the problem! Good luck.
On a somewhat more positive note, I should finally finish the Giro tonight, only 3 stages to go (I had the Tour of Catalunya and Bayern Rundhfart to ride as well......). To plagiarise a well known football quote, it has been a "race of two halves". Once I've finished I'll post a breakdown, but for starters here is the stage breakdown:
7 mountain stages
1 mountain TT
3 hilly stages
1 Prologue TT
1 long ITT
8 'flat' stages (yeah right!)
So, overall, a very lumpy race! |

Basically, it was just an idea for everyone telling their stories here that they can - if they want to, that is - upload their save games in the thread I posted a link to |

I'm was doing a career with Jelly Belly, but I just got fired. It's not my fault, I swear! We were getting great results (4 out of 5 sponsor goals), but we just raced so few races that the sponsors got really unhappy in between races. Our budget was too small to sign up for too many races and we didn't have enough riders to ride much more than we did. But we are 11th in the Cont. team standings. I mean...for Jelly Belly? Who wouldn't be pumped....
Anyways, I think I'm going to "cheat" and make sure I can manage them next year. |

I swear I have no idea what's so funny
EDIT: OH GOD. I see it now
My first reaction was "what's so funny about him being 2nd in the ranking? perfectly normal and realistic".........then I noticed it

It was the first thing I saw when I zoomed in on the SS. That and the Schleck domination, but then I saw that Halvor's playing with CSC...

unless the flat stages were simulated. |

Team Columbia Giro d'Italia
Leader - Ricco
Lieutenants - Pardilla and Gerdemann
Sprinter - Pacheco
Domestiques - Siutsou, Crawford, Possoni, Pinotti, Reynes
This is a really strong team, overall probably the strongest in the race when you consider that 3 of my domestiques have climbing stats of between 76 and 78 for mountain, and my 3 top riders all have mountain 80 or 81. The only worry I had at the start of the race was Ricco's TT stat of 71. The key to a high GC placing is to get a big lead over the main competitors.
Main competition - Basso, Valverde (last year's winner), Cunego, Menchov and Di Luca.
Stage 1 - Prologue TT
1st - Gerdemann (takes leaders jersey for 3 days)
Stage 2 - 4 - 2 flat, 1 hilly
Crawford takes 8 mountain points on hilly stage, and takes the mountain jersey
Stage 5 - flat
1st - Pacheco (takes leader's jersey for 2 days)
Stage 6 - flat
nothing to report
Attached - Crawford (in Mountain Jersey), pushes a breakaway hard in search of more points....

Team Columbia Giro
This is where it gets lumpy
Stage 7 - mountain
1st - Basso
2nd - Valverde +9"
3rd - Ricco +9"
4th - Pardilla +2'19"
10th - Gerdemann +2'38"
Basso, Valverde and Ricco stake their claim, and Ricco takes the Lead Basso takes the mountain jersey
Stage 8 - hilly
nothing much....
Stage 9 - hilly
1st - Ricco
2nd - Pardilla st
3rd - Valverde st
5th - Gerdemann st
16th - Basso st
Ricco wins the uphill sprint Crawford retakes the mountain jersey
Stage 10 - mountain
1st - Valjavec
2nd - Ricco st
3rd Cunego st
18 riders, including all the favourites, breakaway on the final climb to finish a minute ahead of the main peloton. Crawford takes 18 points to cement himself in the mountain jersey
Stage 11 - mountain
1st - Ricco
2nd - Pardilla st
3rd - Sanchez st
Valverde finishes with Ricco, but Basso loses 38 seconds on Ricco, finishing with Gerdemann and Menchov. Cunego loses 20 seconds. Crawford takes another 16 mountain points, and now looks unbeatable for the mountain jersey.
Stage 12 - flat
nothing much....

Team Columbia Giro
So, after Stage 12, Ricco is in the lead over Valverde, with Basso in 3rd, and then a gap to the rest. This has turned into a 3 horse race! Crawford is in the Mountain Jersey and looks unstoppable in the breakaways!
Stage 13 - mountain
1st - Cunego
2nd - Basso +47"
3rd - Valverde +47"
4th Ricco +1'03"
Ricco shows some cracks, but only loses 16 seconds to his rivals. Crawford gains another 25 mountain points
Stage 14 - mountain
Ricco, Pardilla, Gerdemann, Basso and Valverde finish 1'26" ahead of the rest, with Ricco winning the stage
Stage 15 - mountain
1st - Gerdemann
2nd - Cunego +16"
3rd - Basso +23"
4th - Ricco +35"
5th - Valverde 1'04"
6th - Pardilla +1'31"
Ricco loses 12 seconds to Basso but gains 29 seconds on Valverde
Stage 16 - mountain TT
Ricco goes into this 1'17" ahead of Basso in second, and 2'17" ahead of Valverde. The rest are a distant memory for the GC.

Team Columbia Giro
Stage 16 - mountain TT
Disaster! Basso destroys the field, taking 2 minutes out of Valverde and Ricco (3rd and 4th respectively), and with it, the lead of the race. with only 1 more mountain stage and a TT of any significance to go, it looks like the race is his
Stage 17 - flat
nothing to report
Stage 18 - mountain
Basso wins again, taking 32" out of Valverde, and almost a minute out of my elite trio. Pardilla and Gerdemann nursed Ricco to the finish....Ricco is really starting to suffer.
Stage 19 - flat
Pacheco wins!
Stage 20 - 54km TT
Pardilla wins, 1 minute ahead of the rest. Ricco finishes 4 minutes off the winner, and hangs on to 2nd place by 7 seconds!
Stage 21 - flat
Pacheco wins - see attached picture!
