I think I heard the portuguese Europsport commenting 7AM GMT time on Saturday. I'm not sure, I'll check it. |

I'm so pumped for this event. The CBC is airing the race here in Canada and so I'll get a chance to watch the boys go for it. I don't have any expectations for Hesjdal, Tuft, and Barry but hopefully one of them does something and gets on tv. Go boys!

The Olympics are here, love the olympics.
By the way has anyone seen the shite that will be the London 2012 stadium
Apparently it's fantastic because it's simple
Compared with the promised stadium we had with the bid

Im a whore for complex architecture. And that proposed stadium is somewhat beatiful, whereas the the new one is rather bland.

Stick to the plan London.

Hey, you never know, Barry could be looking for redemption this time around!
I remember thinking..wow, a Canadian is going to get the bronze. And then Merckx went by him and that was that.

Well he's at the end of his career but I guess you throw a guy like Barry into the role of leader (unless Hesjdal is now) and things could happen. Excited to say the least anyway, too bad it won't start until like 11 local time here.

nice, this is gonna be a long night, any estimates of how long the race will be time wise?
edit: a description of the day: "Skies are grey, the temperature is 95 degrees and the humidity is 63%. The road temperature is 112 degrees; it is a miserable day to race a bicycle."

It's a loooong route, probably around six hours
EDIT: interesting start for Australia, Rogers has a mechanical then Evans had to get a new radio

I'm sure he made it back fine, they were going quite slow

Next dumb question...what's the gap between the breakaway and the peleton? (Not that it'll matter...there's a reason why, among the two breakaway men, neither has a professional contract!) |
