I'm a bit angry with the wii version of FIFA - why can't they make a less arcade game - it could have been so good on the wii

How could you not?
And with the inevitable mods then your basically getting a game that surpasses fifa in every way this year. |

the main problem is that i like to play "sport playing" games, on console, i have never ever played a "sport playing" game on PC, there's a first time for everything though
the crap names are obviously bad but they can be sorted on PC

tell you what: I could take bets on whether it'll take more or less than an hour after the game is released for a 1MB option file to be released fixing that
the demo's been out for only a few days and already there's a bunch of new sound packs released, along with a fix to extend the playing time (the demo originally only lets you do 5 minute matches), and a patch to allow two players on the demo is about to be released...
EDIT: what I'm getting at is that the modding community is huge

things get done fairly rapidly in PES circles it take it
anyway i have now pre-ordered it from play.com for 17.99 if i don't like it (the way you guys love it, about 0.01% of that happening), i can sell it on ebay for £30
most likley i will like it, maybe more than FIFA

again: download the demo and see for yourself
takes a while to get into it, as it's not simple. it's complex. but in time it's the very complexity that you'll come to love

considering the demo is 1.1GB, that's going to be a problem...

T minus four days and counting. Whats everyone going to do when they get a copy of the full game? I usually start with a few exhibition matches to get a flavour, then maybe to do a world cup to get a trophy in the cabinet (obviously replaying any games I lose). Then I usually do a season, usually Premiership until a few patches come out (real names, graphic patches etc.) then plunge headfirst into the masterleague. |

I'll go to a FNAC superstore, look at the huge queue that forms every year when PES is released, smirk, walk up to the info-booth girl that's a friend of mine, ask her for the copy she saved for me, pay and get out in seconds

same here. I've had it since friday, but haven't tried it, as I've been a bit busy, but when I do try it, I'll have to buy a controller, since mine seems to be malfunctioning (and the cost of fixing it would probably outrank the cost of buying anew one)

yup, that's the point. fixing will probably cost more.
I'm tempted to spend a bit more and buy a cordless one, since 99% of the times the malfunction is with the cord.
