This should be just exelent one day race...in start list you find many decent hilly riders
All this is because I want to be ready for next month..Paris-Nice and Adriatico. Even decided to take part at Valencia tour with same reason.
After start streight away action started..Backstedt on atack..there was hugh atack wave..and big 13 rider group has off for breakaway.
Sörensen is off..not for long..he is to dangerous rider to let him go..
43km. to go..peloton is closing this gap between breakaway group..when Gutierrez
atacks..hard and long one.
He caches..breakaway group..and when it does..Gutierrez atacks again..he must feel real confortable today.
Last climb has started..when favorites starts to show up..Beltran atack..Botcharov follows..Nocentini decided..this can be the moment of the day he follows.
This isnt all..Moreau follows..
This isnt over..Moreau,Beltran, Nocentini has formed first group. When another wave comes..this time Gutierrez, Joly and also one positive surprise Dainius Kairelis from Ceramica Flaminia - Bossini Docce.
After Joly long atack..we have brand new situation..in downhill section Joly has moved to front..and has droped Nocentini out at that first group..now we have Joly, Beltran and Moreau in first group.
Chasing group..Gutierrez, Bocharov, Trofimov (where he came), Kairelis, Nocentini.
Bocharov falls..this is terrible moment for Credit Agricole leader..and for all team.
He isnt only victim..many riders in peloton can stand up on that trcik decent..Ag2r riders Calzati and Dion are two of them.
Second group need to be greatful for Trofimov who has pulled those two group's together just perfectly for sprint.
Has Nocentini is last man on that group..he takes he's chanches for surprise sprint..he jump's off for the line.
Now I should say sry.. I have lost 2 photos on that sprint..anyway how it happens. Nocentini go's Gutierrez and Trofimov reacted..Trofimov is front he passes all 3 at the first group..Gutierrez takes second..and Nocentini is happy with he 3rd spot..he hasnt any legs left against 1st and 2nd. place holders.
Trofimov was deserved winner today..he did hugh work to cach first group..and after that he takes sprint win..stunning ride. Nocentini should be greatful for Goubert..who was today best helper what cyclist can hope.

Stage 1
Sagunto - Port de Sagunto
When I was planning my season..It always feels like Valencia tour will my first real race on my Ag2r career
..with this race that season realy starts. Most of my last storys that place was Amgen and California tour..now Spain.
Zabriskie seems to have free role..he is off at the first breakaway attempt..I feel this
might turn out quite intresting day. i dont have pure sprinter anyway on my group..if
we gonna go for mass sprint then Mandri will to what he is cabable..team leader
will be Gadret..(also main man for Paris-Nice)
Solid breakaway group getting away...peloton speed is realy high chase is on.
Climb of today...4 rider separating in breakaway group Zabriskie leading..also we
have David Loosli, Andriy Grivko and Frederik Willems
Peloton has riding very fast all day after mountain check point..peloton destroys for
pieces...
Slipstream rider and breakaway group star Zabriskie should give up 17km. before
finish line. He was keeping all day long main group fast and activ..great job.
Mandri is where he should be... sitting in Herrero (Karpin) train. Brave man at right
side is Slipstream rider Danny Pate. this is first stage I even dont know who I
should afraid.
At least mandri has chooses right wheel..Herrero go's realy fast Mandri just cant
follow...fastest man on the moment is Milram rider Alberto Ongarato
First stage win and leader jersey for milram..Mandri 4th. not bad at all..all sprint
places inside first 6 is great result for him.
What a ...Cofidis team arrives 2'07 later..in that mode..they probably cant decide
who should be team leader.

Stage 2
Alzira - XĆ tiva
Has careful reader can notice..this stage profile is same that has stage 1..one exeption
this one is 2km. shorter,
Forget to add this info yesterday..Mandri holds young rider shirt.
hugh dissapointment is Pineau..has Boygues leader he drops second stage streight.
What is matter with him..he should be one pf top 10 candidate.
Ramirez taking mountain,,damn those Extremadura - Ciclismo Solidario riders
has beatiful jersey.
Verbrugghe atack..no chanche..Milram controlling a race very well..this is gonna end fith mass sprint.
Has Mandri is perfectly behind sprint leader Herrero..yesterday stage winner
Alberto Ongarato doent find himself a place..he is looking ..looking..swiching trains
several times
And here is result ..he is way out of stage win battle..
Herrero go's..Mandri trying to push himself between Herrero and Cobo..not enough
sprint legs for that..
Herrero takes stage win and also leader jersey...

Stage 3
Ibi - Ibi
Queen stage on Valencia tour.
Verbrugghe going again for solo..has yesterday. He must have some extra energy
Gutierrez atacks on the climb..Gadret is in panic he follows..damn this wasnt it..
wrong choise..Then Caisse and Duval makes grazy speed for peloton.
Gadret looks so tyred but he is hanging on..then..next climb.
We need to admire Verbrugghe today..he gives up just 20km. before the finish..
strong perfomance
Another hard tempo climb..and this happens what I wasnt expected..Gadret has cracked completly..and peloton comes back together.
Last small hill and Pereiro and Beltran go's..Ag2r doesnt have any riders with energy left..who can follow.
This is terrible I never had deluded a such hugh way. I was fighting of any this climbs
to keep my leader is front group..now I can find out that all this was decoy.
Real aces atacks on that smalest last hill..well done...Caisse
Nocentini trying to pull peloton has fast as possible to cach first trio..
Gadret should give up..Valencia tour has been fiasko for him.
Tomorrow Mandri will be man with protection and with leader status.
Pereiro collects the stage win and probably also tour overall win..

Stage 4
Nquera - Nquera
All team atmosphere is quite bad after yesterday satge..only man who can be
satisfied is Mandri. Today will let race decide..who will be try something grazy.
Hugh breakaway group has formed..no Ag2r rider in it..Nocentini feels great today
..motivated (+5)..
Caisse with Saunier taking care tempo making again..we now what was happening yesterday.
Nocentini still feeling real good..he will atack.
Last climb has started..liquigas taking over the control..
Last climb..Nocentini atacks..come on playback time..In normal situation..I never
took such blind atack ..but today I have my reasons.
Nocentini caches breakaway group..peloton is chasing.. This is all the way
lightly downhill ..this one helps a little
looks like he is gonna make it..come on..push all the way
Yes..great job, this feels much better now. Ou he get 4th. at GC...well done

One stage to run in Valencia..easy one for sprinters. Then Omloop..time to get Elmiger ready for cobble races...I dont expect much. Cancellara , Boonen etc. is to strong to beat for him. |

This one of my favorites race..comes faster when I thought..there is time for main
cobble races. I need to start push Elmiger ready for it. He is on the moment in
terrible shape.
Pippo acting realy strange..he atacks on harmless hill..and clearly to early..not a
chance.
Bert De Waele atack..this is much more controlled one..Nazon follows. He struggles
to keep with Landbouwkrediet - Tönissteiner rider..he falls back..coming back again.
Finaly he has to give up ...Waele has serious plan for today.
About 30 riders group finaly getting away...now real fight starts.
Wow..what is this..hugh jump..
This is the moment Devolder atacks..damn he is going fast..now one dont like to
follow at the moment..he caches Waele and leaves also him behind fast. Some has
early peak for the season.
Manager sayd for Elmiger just keep himself on that lead group..no need to follow
Boonen and the boys on he's current condition..and weather has been terrible. Real
hard race..there will be lot of rider's who cant get inside the time limit.
On this shot Elmiger has first difficulty signs ..he cant follow.
Moment..Devolder is race winner already..now this is fight for second place...
CSC cooking something up for O'Grady..look at Elmiger he is come back at this
group at same moment when sprint starts.
Poor Bert De Waele he is still holdinf second place in final km. when "cobble animals"
fly out at that last corner.
Boonen takes second..O'Grady 3rd.
Only 133 riders getting over the finish line..this one makes Elmiger result even better.
