You have to see if your motherboard is compatible with PCI-E, because it should be the type of interface of that graphic card. btw, pretty cheap card, here in Portugal they exceed theirselves just putting the prices too high...

that was one of the cheaper cards yes, most are like £300
and i'm not really bothered about buying a £300 graphics card to be honest
i think i have decided to just get a normal dx9 card because i cannot find an AGP dx10 graphics card (which i now think mine is)

Search for HD2600xt AGP. That is ATI, because I think that AGP dx10 Nvidia cards are yet to be launched.

When I run the demo it says: Medieval 2 Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.

I didn't buy it for that purpose either...
So I think there's no question the computer's simply too old and dumb.
Graphics Card: Intel GMA 950, 128 MB
RAM: 0,99 GB (maybe that's not it, but I can't find out...)
I use Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002... |

ouch. Integrated graphics cards cannot handle the M2TW engine. actually, they can't handle most things nowadays.
you need something compliant with PixelShader 2.0
which they don't even sell anymore. now the minimum that is sold are cards compatible with PixelShader 3.0 and even those are the bare minimum now.
sorry

you probably chose "open" instead of "save". that means it will discard the file once you close it.
you'll need to download it again.
