I was surprised to see her beat Vos and Compton. A very good performance from her side. |

Another win for the younger Van der Poel today. He was pretty much the only one who wasn't involved in a crash.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Watched a summary. Night race and lots of ice; seeing Van der Poel not crash here speaks for his extraordinary bike handling.
Obligatory banana cuz of VDP winning:

Let me join in with you!
Extraordinary years coming up, especially seeing I love Van Aert and Van Der Poel equally. Van Der Poel has such class, but Van Aert isn't any less
Great race today, albeit I'm not a big fan of the route here, too much road. The ice made it interesting, though. Pauwels with a massive move forward today. #1 favorite for WC. |

Dont forget Toupalik, who is already gaining top10 results in U23, while being more than a year younger compared to vdP and almost two years younger than van Aert. We should witness some great battles in the future.

Live now on Sporza the Azencross, with Van Aert and Van der Poel away from the rest. Incredibly muddy race with another duel between the two prodigies.

Another great performancefor them today, but don't forget they're pretty much cherrypicking crosses, while Pauwels, Van der Haar etc. have to ride much more races. Next season should be very interesting!
EDIT: Van Aert takes a full 2 minutes on the pro's!

Van Aert is a machine, almost too good for the pro's and he is only 20, maybe he should consider switching to the roads in some years, I guess he would've won anything there is to win by then.

Meh, very disappointed to have missed today's race. A true mudfeast. Van der Poel unfortunately, once again, with a mistake when riding against Van Aert. It's becoming a bit of a.. thing by now. :/

Yeah, Van Aert rides less races, even compared to Van der Poel (as far as I can tell), but he ends up being one of the top dogs in each of them. Like anderspcm said, he's a machine. With Van der Poel, Van der Haar, Sweeck and some other names, there's enough competition for Van Aert for the future though, so it will be difficult enough for him. Although, at times Van Aert makes it look very easy.

Just noticed that both Van der Poel and Van Aert end the year on the top of their classifications (Van Aert practically having won BPost with over 4 minutes lead, VDP only with one point lead on Pauwels in Superprestige). Hopefully Van der Poel will still be on top come end of February, whilst Pauwels is basically World Cup winner with only one race remaining and 80 points on Van der Haar?
Van Kessel still 3rd in the World Cup standings btw, well done. Strong Cyclo-Cross year for Netherlands.

He'll never go to the road, I think.
His love for the cross is too big. Also, he's the heir to Sven Nys, in Flanders that's hard to beat on the road. You'd have to be as good as Boonen to be equally popular |

More dominance by Van Aert today. Unfortuantely his team won't let him ride the Worlds with the pro's.
Any news on Stybar and the Worlds?

Results from the Azencross
And the results from Yesterday's GP Sven Nys.
I have to say Nash is doing great lately. Winning 3 of the 5 last crosses, beating Marianne Vos in two of them. This should please Avin.

It gets really strange and a bit scary. Van Aert is just heads above competition, Van der Poel sometimes, rarely too. Obviously Nys is far from his top shape but the other riders' don't really come close most times. Even Pauwels gets schooled by Van Aert. Ollfardh's right with the cherry-picking by the Van Aert but in turn, this really makes me excited for next year. I hope Van Aert will then compete in all three classifications. Maybe that will put things into perspective but until then I have to ask, will this be the first World Championship were the U23 will end up with a more quality podium than the Elites; Van Aert, Sweeck and VDP?
