With today's race featuring another uphill finish, yesterday's winner Christian De Vries will go into the stage as favourite, however after a strong showing yesterday Wiggins and Kelderman will aim to show him that he's not the strongest in the race. The real question is whether Velasco will be able to ride as well as yesterday and perhaps hold onto his second overall and KoM lead, although time will tell, as to whether this happens or not. After a disappointing showing yesterday Jurgen Van den Broeck will aim to show that his teams hard work wasn't for nothing.
Startlist
The breakaway went within the first kilometre of the stage and they were Kiendys (CCC), Vanendert (LTB) and Peron (TNN). They were allowed to gain a large lead with Champion System sitting on the front of the bunch, in defence of De Vries.
The first sprint of the day was won by Peron, followed by Kiendys and then Vanendert.
In the peloton it was Van Goolen who decided to make friends with the pavement as he hit the deck just after the intermediate sprint, but he immediately got back up and carried on in the race.
Vanendert took the first KoM point of the day.
Peron won the second KoM point of the day after a mistake from Vanendert on the speed of Peron.
Vanendert won the final intermediate sprint of the day.
With just 25 kilometres to go Wiggins puncture but luckily the change is quick and his team have waited to pace him back onto the bunch. However they seem to be struggling to get back to the bunch as they chase down the break and try to set up their leaders for the final climb. With just 15 kilometres to go Wiggins is still 2 minutes behind the main field.
As the bunch hits the final climb, they catch the break leaving just 11 kilometres to go, but the Wiggins group is still 2 minutes behind the bunch, can he get back on in time? Yes he's back on with 10 kilometres to go, what a great job by his team.
Its Dimitriou who is the first rider to attack, and there is no response from the main field yet.
Atapuma bridges across to the leader, and De Vries follows. As soon as they reach the leader Atapuma attacks, and De Vries tries to follow. Nerz jumps across the gap and Dimitiou begins to falter leaving three riders up the road. With Wiggins and Kelderman nearly a minute behind the leaders.
With 5 kilometres to go Kelderman tries to get across to the leaders but doesn't seem able to. Wiggins continues to ride on the front of the chase group.
De Vries starts to distance the others, as Wiggins begins to drop the chase group can he get back across after the troubles he's had?
Wiggins bridges the gap to the Kelderman group which contains Nerz and Atapuma.
1km to go Kelderman jumps out of the chase group to try and get across to De Vries who now has a minutes lead.
De Vries takes a solo win, to extend his lead on the overall, with Kelderman holding on for second place.

Birt cracks Top 10 and Dimitriou quite active. Very pleased.
Also, Gorka Nieve remains the coolest moustache in the bunch.

Well we haven't had too much wins so far, thus we celebrate now big time
Super strong ride by De Vries, thats gonna be the overall GC as well if nothing goes wrong by the looks of things.

As I mentioned before the export doesn't work on my computer, and I have tried fixing it but it doesn't seem to be able to function on my computer.

Despite today's race being classed as a flat stage, there appears to be no clear sprinter in the race, meaning that a break may be allowed to stay away to the finish, due to the fact that there will be limited numbers of riders in the field who wish to chase, if the race does come down to a sprint expect to see a few of the more punchy climbers going for the win as the finish is slightly uphill so they may feel they have a chance to win a stage.
The first attack of the day came from Cerny (CCC) who was allowed to build up a decent lead, but as a solo break it appeared his time out front was numbered.
Sure enough a few kilometres down the road, two riders came across to the lone leader, they were Downing (TNE) and Jans (AJW)
It was Cerny who picked up the first KoM points of the day, but the break didn't contest them. Russel Downing then won the sprint points, although they too weren't contested.
Downing took the second KoM points, with Peron (TNN) diving out of the bunch to take 4th place behind the breakaway. Downing then took the second intermediate sprints of the day. Jans then took the final intermediate sprint as the peloton caught the breakaway with just 10 kilometres to go.
3 kilometres to go Europcar hit the front working for there sprinter Khamse Khamphan with Kelderman and Duque glued to his back wheel. The Lotto Belisol train is coming up the left side of the bunch with the Orica team not far behind them.
1.5 kilometres to go Duque launches the sprint and Khamse Khamphan seems unable to go with him. Is Duque going to get the first win of the season for Colombia.
600m to go De Vries and Kelderman come from nowhere to overtake Duque.
De Vries wins with Belkin 2nd and 3rd.

Nerz has finished the first three stages 6th, 5th and 4th. I would say podium tomorrow but I know that he's really Rojas in disguise.
Ollfardh, isn't there a rule that all inactive riders, especially Dutch ones, have to be instantly removed from the game on the second Monday in August? I thought there was.

With Today's stage being classed as a mountain stage, however it doesn't feature a mountain top fish, meaning it is likely to suit a breakaway although riders like Wiggins and Kelderman will have to attack to regain as much time as possible on De Vries before the time trial.
The first break of the day featured Camano (TNE) and Saramontins (IAM), there were numerous attacks to get across to the two leaders, one of which featuring American champion Warbasse, but these all failed to bridge the gap.
Eventually a group did manage to bridge across to the leaders, featuring American Champion Warbasse (BMC), Louder (UHC) and Bellemakers (LTB)
Warbasse won the first KoM point of the day. However no riders were a threat to the leader De Vries Warbasse won the first sprint of the day.
Warbasse leads the break over the second climb of the day, meaning he moves to within 4 points of De Vries could we see the first time a rider other than De Vries being in a jersey? Hopefully! De Vries picks up two, meaning the Warbasse just has to win the next climb and he has the KoM jersey tomorrow.
Warbasse takes the final KoM to become the first rider other than De Vries to lead a classification. Louder won the final intermediate sprint of the day.
With 18 kilometres to go Wiggins, Kelderman, De Vries and Frank attack off the front of the peloton and build up a decent lead over a small chase group.
Meanwhile in the lead group Louder has made a solo bid for victory, and the Wiggins group has swollen to 11 riders with the bunch closing in. 2 kilometres to go Louder still has 20 seconds over the chasers, who have a minute over Saramontins and a further minute in front of the Yellow Jersey group.
500m to go Louder is beginning to suffer and Warbasse and Camano are closing in quickly, has he gone to early.
250m to go Warbasse catches Louder and starts to pass him.
100m to go Louder kicks again as Warbasse begins to fade and Camano is closing in fast.
25m to go Louder throws his arms in the air and celebrates a memorable win, for the United Healthcare team, in the bunch Kelderman wins the sprint ahead of De Vries.

I think that's the first KoM jersey we've worn all season. Such a shame he couldn't get the win in that beautiful jersey but a great day for Larry nevertheless. BMC's best race of the season this.
