With such an attitude and impatience I'm sure you won't get any help indeed.

@ Ronny: Please first read the installation notes to see if you did everything what you should. I'm pretty sure you did something wrong. |

Hi everyone!
I'm using the FDB v.1 for a while now. Except the, in my opinion, ridiculous stats, it's a perfect database. Although I have a little (no, very big!) problem with starting some stages, like the fifth stage of the TDF (cobbles).
When it's preparing to start, the sentences 'Road intersection Geometries' and 'Road Geometries' are just flickering for a very long time. After that, things like water geometries and all the other things will load, whereby you think the race will start soon.
However, the race will never start, and it all ends with the famous picture of Cyanide Studios who apologies for the fact the game crashed bla bla bla...
Now my question? What could probably be the cause of this crash? It happens during more races, among the third stage to London.
You have to know, it only happpens when I got my graphical settings on level 2 or higher.
Is there somebody where this happens too? Is there somebody who knows how to solve this?
Thank y'all! |

Wow some really harsh stuff being said about this DB despite the fact it looks great. Now what exactly is meant by 'matrix' concerning stats, I have a rough idea but would like to know how this works?
Also I find it strange how nobody can have low flat stats and that so many riders have high fighter stats as well, surely this makes differences minimal in some races.
Also it would be interesting to know just how realistic race results are with this db as well. I'm still using the PCM daily ones from the start of the year and they have been edited by me for my taste and the results are always pretty accurate. |

The idea of the high flat stats is to create high speed ingame, as well as to create much smaller difference in between the riders. Ofcourse the AI has been strange for years and still is, but I try to create a smaller difference between all of the riders. Therefore we're constantly updating (1 update in 2 months is normal imo) and I'm constantly updating the stats. The fighter stats are just as in the other databases, except that I give higher fighter stats to those who conclude a long break attack victorious once or twice a year.
Matrix is just a term that's been given to every portion of stats in certain databases. We could also name it stats package or something like that. I've worked on this for years and I know it gets a lot of critics, especially from those who don't follow the cycling results as much as I do. But that's OK, there should always be room for pleny of discussion. As for the stats, it's for everyone themselves to see if they like it or not. If you like them, you play with them (they're not meant to be for the simulation part btw ). If you don't like them, don't play with them. I agree with both types of players. |

One more a little question when you want to continue your career after installing the update: things won't crash or something (because races are added for example)?
Thanks in advance! |

I can see the logic behind your stats and I guess it's just a case of becoming used to the stats that make up a database and I guess if the results feel realistic then they must be good. I use the pcmdaily stats and some are altered by me either to improve the rider of decrease the rider a bit in order to get the most realistic results and as you know it's something that needs to be done say every 2 months on average.
I thought the matrix was something more complex like the linking of numbers, instead it's just another name for the stats. |
