Thurau wasn't in the break, right?
Because then he needs a ridiculous upgrade immediately. 29th in a group with Rabottini, Pellizotti, Moreno, Cunego and Losada (so all 74+ MO guys).
Although I'd like to note that Patrick Gretsch got 30th on last year's penultimate stage at Giro, and look where that got him, so don't get too overexcited to quickly

"He rides well, but look at Gretsch" still sounds more enjoyable than "he rides shitty, but look at Froome" though
What do you think about the GC? In my opinion, I think that, although the last week will be very tough, I haven't seen the favourites very strong, and Evans could take advantage of this at the TT (i calculate that quintana uran pozzovivo... will lose around a minute or a minute and a half, because evans is not the great timetrialist he was, but still a great difference)

30 secs max
It depends on so many factors but there is no doubt that Pozzovivo could lose that much in a TT even to a bad rider. Of course he isn't as bad as he once was.
In case anyone wants a side by side comparison of the two, here you go:
The first Giro ITT arguably not quite as favourable as the Vuelta parcours for Pozzovivio, but it will be interesting to see what kind of a day Pozzo has if his Vuelta ITT wasn't a freak one-off occurance.
Great victory from Weening! I still remember his victory and pink jersey three years ago, but then the situation was different (it was the first normal stage after Weylandt's fatal crash). But great to see him winning again. Kelderman also doing very well to finish sixth and he was one of the five riders who could follow Uran when he accelerated.
Unfortunately Steven Kruijswijk left the giro because of his crash two days ago. Hoped to see him in such a good shape as in 2011.

You could also say he was one of the five riders that CHOSE to follow Uran when he accelerated. Other riders prefer riding their own tempo.
For example, since you're Dutch, Contador chose to follow Froome on the climb to Ax-3 Domaines, but in the end he was passed by Mollema who had ridden his own tempo all the time.
