I really hope he does. Apart from the cobbles the route should suit Rodriguez very well tho..
Yeah but a cobbled stage is the last thing you want after returning from broken ribs injury no? |

Why would he go to the Tour anyway? With Froome, a reborn Contador and Nibali there, he has zero chance of winning.
I'd take a potential Vuelta and/or worlds victory over a Tour podium any day if I were him - especially considering he already finished on the podium at the Tour last year.

This!
He is running out of chances to win a GT so aiming for the Vuelta would be a good choice as most who will be there will either already had a long season or young guys/2nd tier GC riders so going in fresh might net him that GT

Can't believe that I haven't seen Cio mentioning it yet(unless I overlooked it), but both Stölting and 4-72 Colombia aim for PCT next season.

As far as I know, it was mentioned once (by Cio, ofc) in News in April or even before.

Well, there are some updates published throughout the last weeks which are basically in the order of "we consider it", "we collect necessary information", "we are about to send our application", now I await "we sent our application".
Though radsport-news.com, who are actually a minor sponsor of Stölting, wrote this 5 days ago:
doch ist der Fokus ganz eindeutig auf die Profi-Mannschaft gerichtet, die im kommenden Jahr in der zweiten Liga des Radsports aktiv sein wird.
Which reads "will" be ProConti, not "want" to be ProConti.
Feel free to speculate if that's a grammar error or an early spoiler.

While i agree it would be the smarter decision for Rodriguez (all the facts that you just mentioned), I still hope he decides to ride the Tour as i generally would spend 80-100 hours watching Tour de France compared to 20-30 hours of watching the Vuelta
Btw, I noticed someone posting a website with all the riders programmes in somewhere, but I cant find it.. would appreciate it if some1 could link it |

Maye it's been mentioned before, but it didn't hit norwegian newspapers until now.
Jan Ullrich has been involved in a traffic accident. He crashed into an oncoming car and two people have been hospitalized.
According to the police Ullrich had a BAC of 1.4. Ullrich denies it. He admits to have been doing 20km/h over the legal speed limit.

Ullrich may be going to jail. And not for doping too.

Two people were hospitalized, but I don't think it was to serious.
If the 1.4 BAC level is true, then he might be looking at some time in the joint. I don't know about the sentences over there, but it should hurt.

He first denied it but now admitted that it was a "big mistake" to drive drunk. So it is true that he caused that accident under the influence of alcohol.
But noone is seriously injured. Still Ullrich didn't get his drivers license back yet. |
